I'm quite surprised the only CBs are still Maguire, Bailly and Lindelof + Tuanzebe and Fosu-Mensah whenever they're fit. And Romero was not loaned or sold out to anywhere. E: Regarding the CB still, I honestly thought Smalling would have had something to give to this team, but I guess if he isn't a guaranteed starter it is not hard to see Rome as a preferred destination.

I can't really imaging him dominating the league, but he's a smart, solid player, and I'm sure the young strikers can benefit from playing with him. They desperately need a CB though, no question about that. and yet smalling has not been given a proper chance under ole and was just sold to roma. i would take smalldini over maguire any day of the week

Imo Lindelöf is the one who has to go, Maguire is fine (but needs a really solid defender as a partner, his perhaps biggest strength is being able to bring the ball forward.) Defensively, the 2019-2020 season was a huge improvement over 2018-19 anyway.. (33% fewer goals conceded. )

I'd imagine multiple players with such glaring inconsistencies and weaknesses make the defensive duty super stressful. It just doesn't seem like a balanced package where you can focus on sorting out your own play when you''re a bit off and weak on confidence. Maybe there's someone who can fill the position better than Lindelof, but I imagine it requires a complete player with good mental strength to shine in such circumstances.

I'm back from Inner Mongolia and no internet for a week. What the hell is going on in the Premier League? Crazy results. Especially the Liverpool game, really surprising to me out of any sort of context. Yanited have been looking bad all season that's less surprising and I hear there was a red card. I actually quite like Liverpool losing a game because with City struggling if they had continued in the vain of last season it would be a very uninteresting title race. But getting thrashed not just losing to Villa is pretty shocking. I'll get on MOTD whenever I can.
