But really, who should have passed them? The team that hasn't played in a month? To be honest, outside of eye test and history, the most egregious ranking is Ohio State. If you let all the teams behind them play those 5 games at least 10 of them also go 5-0 right?

I guess it really comes down to the argument of 4 best teams vs. 4 most deserving teams. I think there should be some penalty to losing to a 3 win team at home as a 23 point favorite even if you win the game 9 times out of 10 and are a better team on paper than the teams that would theoretically jump you. Iowa State also seems to not be held accountable at all for losing to Louisiana by 17. If it's all about the 4 most talented teams why even have the G5 in the same division? Why even play the games

but yes Ohio State has no resume to stand on either except whether or not Indiana is actually good

I get this year is complicated though with almost no OOC and everyone doing their own thing

Ohio State and A&M are making compelling arguments that it's better to just not play games at all

But the LSU loss is exactly why the P5 teams are given so much more credibility. LSU is having a bad year, but they still have freaks on both sides of the ball and a competent (NATIONAL CHAMPION!) head coach. If you play that kind of team 9 times, and you are better than all 9 of them, you still can drop one pretty easily. That is why Bama is just so insane.

Nebraska hasn't had a terrible class. But it sure in the hell ain't competing anytime soon unless the coaching gets a helluva lot better.

Yeah I guess I shouldn't say floundering, rather that many teams are treading water at best, whereas the biggest, baddest institutions are gobbling up talent and growing larger.

Want better recruits? Win. It's really simple. That Nebraska can get a top 25 or top 20 recruiting class year in and year out is nuts since they've sucked for the past...damn near 10 years.

I'm just hoping they turn the freaking corner next year. Frost has 1-2 more years and then that's that for him. He needs to be firing some assistants/coords for sure after the season. Losing to Illinois, Iowa, Minnesota is unacceptable.

The only real weapon the NCAA has is the death penalty and teams are sharp to the fact that if they don't admit to what they did they won't get that. But no way they put the death penalty on a bama ohio or LSU at this point.
