Messi is quite a tight lipped fellow but his opinion on this current board and Bartomeu are pretty common knowledge. I wonder if this is more a power play to push Bartomeu out before the elections. | ||

As for Messi, I believe City would be the best club for him and it wouldn't put City in a tough spot after he leaves. Inter would have to build the team around him, and PSG would have a crazy attack but it'd ruin any chance they'd have at building a real team. French medias are saying there's a supposed deal with Beckham for Messi to join his club in the US (Inter Miami) with a great tax deal, for when he retires from European football. The planned date was for 2021 and it was done months ago. I don't think it'd be crazy to see Messi do one more year in Europe before leaving next year. In that scenario, clubs won't want to have to pay a transfer fee on top of the salary. So if Messi leaves for a fee, he'll probably stay a couple of years in his new club, if he leaves for free.... 1 year? It also depends if Messi really wants to be in a good shape for the Qatar WC (sounds crazy, but after all the losses with the NT, he might not care as much anymore). Fun drama time. | ||
