This year also has no big tournaments so longer summer break = big teams performing better

I could easily see both Pool and City dropping plenty of points on those matches if Chelsea, Arsenal, ManU and Spurs put up a better fight. At this point I'm not sure if United and Chelsea can really pull themselves together in one window though, both have a lot of puzzles to solve.

Both liverpool and tottenham were last minute deals and chelsea...i dont think anyone watching that game thought they were the better team against EF. The difference between 1 or 4 teams in the finals was actually quite small this time around and leaves the idea of a domination that was not there (although there is obviously merit and effort and all that, lets not go overboard)

Liverpool has been the best team over both legs and in each leg so dont call it lucky please. If you call their 2nd leg lucky then you must also call their first leg very unlucky

This has been greatly positive for the big leagues (4 CL spots for the top 4 leagues is still ridiculous) but for once their greed is a negative for the Premier League. Apart from that, of course it's ridiculous that they only get 6.000 a piece. 12.000 fans for the clubs in the final in a stadium with 70.000 capacity. Football should be about the fans, not about generating money.

That guy has no clue about football Bit harsh, i called both champs league semi finals quite clearly and it wasn't even that Frankfurt were good it was Chelsea went from being wasteful in the first leg to utter trash performance which we have every few games under Sarri. When it looks like we are about to win a few games we have an absolute shite game. We played the whole 120 minutes of semi final football last night without a striker and still managed to scramble ourselves through. We have Pedro who just runs around and that is it, guy has lost it and i have been saying for ages but Sarri likes the runs he does for David Luiz's long balls he can ping out of nowhere. We also missed our two best defensive players in Rudiger and Kante which might not mean much to some due to Frankfurt vs Chelsea wealth blahblah, but in terms of what they offer us they sure us up tenfold and we missed them badly. We also then lost another CB half way through the game and had to play Dave as a CB in a back 4 which he has never done before, he has only played RCB in a back 3 which is tactically totally different, plus he has Luiz next to him lol. So Chelsea played an awful game, went from 8/10 to 3/10 and Frankfurt were at like 6/10 who in reality are deservedly being carried by Jovic who as seen yesterday, scores whenever he gets a sniff. Did nothing all game minus that one chance he got he took. The Frankfurt player had his hands up celebrating the goal before he even controlled it when he was 1 on 1 that is how much they know he is going to score, celebrating before he even scores! Oh in other news, did you guys know that this is the first time ever all European final teams are from the same country, and that country happens to be ENGLAND ![]() Did you know England could win the biggest competition in Nations League in the summer and truly dominate :3

David Luiz even said after thursday game that England is back to being the best in Europe and next season we shall go again and prove it some more. Real after they buy 10 new players will struggle to compete just like every season they tried that, takes time for those sides to settle. Barcelona need more than what they can afford to get as well, so they will be in the same boat and Messi is a year older. Juventus might be able to do something if they buy good though thats for sure and PSG is a mystery.

Regardless of what you think of how Liverpool performed, they were still through on a last minute goal like I said. It doesnt take much to understand that Barça-Ajax; Arsenal-EF was very close to happening and then it would only be one english team in the finals. It is not like the english teams went around europe cruising and beating everyone up as they pleased. There is a long way between saying its not the dominance claimed in this thread and saying it was down only to luck. Those are, I reckon, the polar opposites. Things are not binary.

If you call it "luck" then were Barca lucky when they overturned that 3-0 deficit to PSG the season before? 4-0*Were Real Madrid lucky to avoid most competitive teams until the semi final and then get Ronaldo involved etc. etc = aka offside goals, many penaltys etc.Liverpool had an easy route to the semi final, but they also are the best team in the competition making it now back-to-back finals and they did it without their best player in Salah this time around. They had the hardest group, then played the german and portuguese champions. Very easy indeed. This time around they had Salah in 1st leg, who was unlucky not to score and also had Liverpool play an entire 1-0 down game without a striker. Then Messi punches Fabinho's head, wins a free-kick way over 4 yards of where it should have (not) been... they were without Firmino in 2nd leg I think, I wonder what that means?David Luiz even said after thursday game that England is back to being the best in Europe and next season we shall go again and prove it some more. You mean the worst Brazil captain ever, and 2nd worst player to wear the Brazil shirt ever after Fernandinho? lolOn May 11 2019 22:01 KobraKay wrote: Da fuck? Real Madrid can only have so much luck in winning 3 champions league in a row...so yeah lets not got into that. What does irrelevant Brazil have to do with anything? We are not on about choking or anything else we are discussing European football.
