TLDW: $995 BBB Lonzo Ball shoes are cheap as fuck ($495 non signed version)
- BBB sole is flat, non-grippy, and practilly designless, compared to $120 KD10 and other legit basketball sneakers which have grip, mid area curve, indents, and other functional and aesthetic features
- BBB sole material is 1 continuous rubber/urethane material, compared to $120 KD10 and other legit basketball sneakers with air pockets, microfoam, tensile threads, pressure point structures
Also, BBB was saved by a Sketchers startup company, so it's basically a Sketchers shoe. And the shoe mold itself is a generic mold and used by other appropriately cheap offbrand shoes

I can't imagine anyone is truly surprised by that, save for maybe the Balls themselves lol

i think Tyus Jones is the best 2nd string PG in the NBA. https://www.cleaningtheglass.com/stats/team/18/lineups
the Tyus//Butler//Wiggins//Tag//KAT lineup is +26.7. When Teague comes back I think Jones deserves more minutes. If he doesn't get more minutes it begs the question of what he must do to get more floor time.
After watching a bunch of games in half-filled buildings it'll be fun watching a game at the Air Canada Centre... the place is packed.

Wiggins feasting on the Lakers 😎

52. Breaks record of Raptors all time greats VC and Ross. I hope DeMar shuts all his haters up.
Same for Wiggins. He is okish with a lot to learn, but some people make it sound like he is bad.
Interesting start of the year.

u have to wonder if Wiggins can't light up the Lakers very weak defense that is missing a good defender in Lonzo Ball... who can he light up?
Casey going with VanVleet down the stretch and in OT. According to the eye-test Delon looks somewhat better than VanVleet. Casey keeps going with VanVleet in critical game ending situations so i'm going to have to side with Casey and say VanVleet>Delon.

its weird to hear people going ga-ga over a 7-16 shooting performance against the worst defense in the league when its missing Lonzo Ball.
Lowry played a good game tonight after playing pretty badly last game.
and guess who led the Raptors in +/- tonight while scoring 1 point? whenever, he shows up, magically, the other team stops scoring. weird. could it be he is a good defender?
after Derozan's little streak of shooting 3s against Charlotte and Philly 12 days ago i suggested that the 3 was now an integrated part of his game. i think tonight was the final proving ground. Teams are going to have to react to Derozan positioning himself outside the 3 point line. The 3 is no longer a trick-pitch screwball in his arsenal... its Derozan's 2-seam fastball.
i luv these baseball analogies

Interesting start of the year. Yes this is really setting up to be a great year. It could be GSW vs Cavs again, but it feels like it won't be easy! You know when ace throws Wiggins a little love he's playing well, hes filling the entire box score and good defense as well. Houston is a legit challenge to the GSW. And we have at least a 2-week break of Harden shenanigans. I hope it's nothing serious though. Plus the Spurs being classic lowkey season Spurs as usual.
Now I am starting to doubt the Cavs, just a little bit. Lebron's hot start is starting to fizzle and the law of averages is catching up. 16/51 from the 3, 4 losses, below average WS, and a decrease by as much as -3.5 in the last month of games, it doesn't look good for the team.
I'm not saying Lebron is bad, quite the opposite. But I am saying this team does not look like it can challenge the best of the West. I wouldn't put it on IT's return to resuscitate the team, but he will inject a much needed energy to push them to the second half until the end of the season. The Cavs look like a total either or, they'll either be a genius team of players magnificently complementing each other, or the worst idea in sports history.

last night was "Greek Heritage Night" in Toronto.
https://streamable.com/mh3x5
certain players get lulled to sleep when dealing with a polite crowd. certain players get rattled by a brutal nasty crowd. i'm not sure if Giannis is in either of those 2 categories. he was definitely given a very polite welcome last night in Toronto though.

The Cavs look like a total either or, they'll either be a genius team of players magnificently complementing each other, or the worst idea in sports history. I know the Bucks get some some credit because of the freak. But they have a strong team outside of him as well. If Jabari Parker comes back as good as he was before going down they are nasty, long athletic team. I'd put them ahead of the Wizards with how they have looked this season. A lot of people thought the Wiz would start off strong because they had basically the same roster and didn't change anything drastic (like the raps changing their offense) but so far they have been pretty blah. I hope IT looks good in Cle, he is fun to watch. Speaking of Wiz, why do I get this feeling that John Wall is not the guy... He is all show with little substance. I don't think he is the type to lead a team. I dunno, pure speculative haunch based on the last few seasons.
But yeah, the Bucks are somewhere there, as well as the Sixers. They just need the rough and tumble experience of the playoffs to toughen them up. A deep playoff run will do these teams' confidence good for the war next season.
Too bad IT's return won't be in Boston, but I hope he does well in CLE.

By the way, are there any 40ish year olds here? Or someone old enough to have watched Jabbar in his prime, or even Wilt?

i remember when the Raptors were owned by a radio station and played their games in a baseball stadium and they'd play a few games in the mecca for pro wrestling : Maple Leaf Gardens.
Lillard is supposed to be back for Portland against Cleveland tonight

its unfortunate that these published Offensive Ratings and Defensive Ratings are all based on estimated possessions rather than actual counted possessions.
guys like Justin Jacobs and the guy running "Cleaning The Glass" use actual counted possessions, but you have to pay a monthly fee for access to the statistics they compile.
