Groups are such a joke man, how on earth do we have groups of Spartak, Sevilla Maribo and scouse then things like Monaco porto beskitas leipzig. Yet Real Spurs Dortmund, Juve Barca Sporting happen? Then to top it off Chelsea get the teams they cant play vs aka teams who can defend in Atletico and Italian outfit Roma who have been on the up lately. Top it off we get furthest travel distance in Qarabag! 6 hour flight T_T
Uefa really need re address the draw system, so we don't get so lopsided groups. Groups like Group F make sense or Group D, 2 tough teams but also 2 teams which have a chance but are not that far away.

Come on man, you know better than that. Hate to break it to you but Porto eliminated Roma last year and Monaco went to the semis. Leipzig did very well in the league last year (placed ahead of Dortmund right?). The only "weak" team in that group is Besiktas which is still the champion of its domestic league. Group A is worse despite having United....
The Barça/Juve group is just those 2, why single it out?....Sporting will strugle to place ahead of Olimpiakos, yet you put them as if there are 3 good teams in that group? Just a regular 2 strong team group.
It is all a matter of perspective.
Group E and Group F are possibly the only ones that are clearly below the rest. Group H is a joke, that is true. Would hate to be a fan of any team in that Group watching the draw. The Chelsea group is cool but still not that bad.

Monaco have no players left ? They aren't the side of last year. Porto knocked out Roma, impressive but that's now a Roma side who finished runners up to Juventus which was alot closer than normal. I doubt that happens that way again!
Sporting are a team that will give you a good game, not saying Porto don't but again both these teams are just competitive games where they are still big underdogs for the to 10-12 European teams.

So Barca got Dembele now, 120 Mio + possible 30 mio bonus. (Bild.de) Pretty crazy, especially considering that BVB just bought him last season for 15 mio.

Rosenborg winning hype, also Legia Warsaw who drew Real nd beat Sporting in CL last year got eliminated by Sheriff Tiraspol from Moldova o.O

This already has been denied by Watzke hours ago... No, there is no agreement yet, even though he announced he will give a final verdict in the coming days.

I have seen them play this year and they were very solid despite using new players.
Sporting finished in 4th place last year, after legia....legia! This year they went past Steaua to get to the groups and were not that great, don't let yesterday's result fool you (and yes, you considering Sporting like part of a good 3 team group was what triggered me the most :p). Porto is not comparable to Sporting....a quick look at the last few years performances in CL (or any time frame you choose for the last 30+ years) will show you that.
Regarding Roma I can accept your view and reserve judgement, was just stating that downplaying Porto and Monaco and praising Roma felt really unfair to me. Still, like I said, Chelsea's group is good with 3 strong teams.
Still, despite having a EPL club, group A is worse, as are groups F and E

Worst thing about watching the draw is that it's fucking boring. Real - Dortmund. Again. Hype killed. Looking forward to play a Spurs teams that won't play the way they did when we met in El. Apoel is fine to finish the group off. Would've preferred Celtic but whatever.

holyshit that was an amazing game. up 1-0, all is swell, everybody happy, this is awesome, we're two goals ahead. then after 60 minutes, two goals for ajax in 1 minute and it's like everybody in trondheim got punched in the stomach.
But, we bought Samuel Adegbenro from Viking for 1.5 million euro 9 days ago. he has played 45 minutes of europa league football and scored 3 goals so far. The last goal was fkn class also. sadly he's gonna get sold again quickly - luckily, we're gonna get 10 times what we paid for him. And he also basically made us qualify for the europa league. One hell of a deal.

Two of the worst Ajax games of the last decade. Fairly unlucky as well. Having like 20 good opportunities, score 2 goals, Rosenborg with 2,5 opportunities, score 3.
What the hell was Keizer thinking subbing Dolberg for a debutant defender when all is going well. Should've brought on de Jong for the abysmal Dijks and go for the 3-1. Rosenborg was ready to be slaughtered.
Grats Eri.

Disaster year for Ajax incoming...

Congratulations Drone! Does Rosenborg usually play this theme: https://twitter.com/tib1969/status/900807458645520385/video/1
I thought it was hilarious.

It's mostly horrible for the Dutch coefficients. I think not having European football can be a big boost to your league chances though and despite our good transfers Feyenoord haven't yet looked good in any of our matches.

Europa League Groups![[image loading]](https://i.redd.it/ikcm7aouevhz.png)
Is it just me or do some of those groups feel a lot stronger than recently?

After 3 years, could put MLS in a good spotlight as well.

Why on earth have they called David Villa up and not Cesc? xD

Pretty sure cesc won them just as much. He has been vital for them scoring many goals, scoring in the shoot out wins as well etc etc.
No cesc was just suspended he is back in the squad for Everton game.

Younes was the only player of yours who seemed to really show up. Was dangerous every single time he had the ball, but the rest were mostly just missing.
And while I agree we were lucky, we did have 2 great opportunities besides the 3 goals. ;p One shot in the post, and Bendtner was 0.5 cm away from scoring a second goal in the first half. And we had a great goalkeeper - you did not. (edit: looking at match stats, it's 17-9 in shots, 8-3 in shots on target. So yeah, no complaints from me. )
Anyway, thanks. When we drew Ajax the consensus was 'oh well, guess not this year either'. And while I guess it's one of the more embarrassing losses in Ajax history (first year since 1965 you're not qualified for european competition? lol that's absurd.), it's our biggest win in a decade, so oh well. I'm happy.
Pretty much everywhere I've gone today, I've heard people talking about the game. Everyone longs pretty hard for the 1995-2002 era, I don't think we realized how special that team was until they were gone, and this was like, the first series of games that reminded us of that period. And they're consistently improving, even while selling our best players, the replacements eventually end up being better, and there's this broad understanding and acceptance across the board that it might take some time but through patience, hard work and consistently adhering to the club principles, success will be achieved. :D
