And about the graph, ya, just looking at it w/o reading your explanation had me thinking about how it compared in shots amount because of the elimination of mid-range jumpers. Only higher % shots being taken now compared to before so def makes sense.

I guess just basing it off that one time he tried to come back from the injury right before the playoffs. He wasn't able to play good then, but he could act differently this time around. I hope he comes back strong , makes EC more exciting.

Boston commentators are saying tonight's Washington//Celtics game resembles a Boston-Bruins/Flyers game from teh 70s. it is pretty nasty... but it is also entertaining... lots of referee meetings... senate committee meetings ffs. I. Thomas looks healthy.

At least reducing preseason games and extending the regular season will help a little bit. Everyone knows the real solution to the issue is to reduce the number of regular season games, and everyone knows just as well that it would take a miracle for that to happen. These small steps are still an improvement over what players have gone through for decades.

I don't even think reducing the number of regular season games would do anything. Sure back-to-back on the road sucks, and all that, but the best teams rest their players because they can, not because they need. There is just not enough incentive to compete at full strength each game night if you're already guaranteed a top playoff spot.

Part of it is that we have nationally televised games now for 5 days a week. And these stations want the same teams. These nationally televised games can add to the travel of the teams playing in them and mess up their schedule.

For example, teams on a road trip frequently play all the Texas teams on the same road trip and maybe the Pelicans and the Thunder as well. It makes sense. The teams are close by and if you are on the opposite side of the country, you don't want to jet back and forth multiple times. However, if you are the Warriors or the Cavs, TNT might want you play Houston on a certain date and ESPN wants you to play San Antonio on another. It just adds to the travel for these teams. And oftentimes, it happens on the second night of a back to back because that's the only way the league can fit that game on to the schedule.

It's not a surprise to me that this happens on national tv games. The schedule can get really awkward when they move games around to fit the national tv broadcast schedule.

Silver (or someone) said they would add games to the schedule next season in order to reduce their back-to-backs. Next on the priority will/should be eliminating the 4-games-in-5-nights. They won't be reducing amount of games ($ like jimmic said) and I see it being hard to eliminate even pre-season games, but they could look into that.

They definitely should not schedule nationally-televised games on team's back-to-back. And if a team does have a back-to-back, try to make it for the home teams.

The other thing that the league and Silver would be doing if they are able to work better schedules is that they will put the ball back in the players' court. Right now a lot of fans are siding with the players because it mostly makes sense with the league's scheduling. But if they rework a more player-friendly schedule and the players still decide to sit out due to rest, more fans will be shifting the blame to the players. Of course they can always just make up some injury if they really want to...
