When Rubio is not directing the defense Wiggins is clueless when it comes to making a decision when a screen occurs any where within 4 feet of him. its "hey, i got 'em .. i mean he's your man right? ,,,, i mean uhhh" .... wide open shot.... SWISH. that pattern happens a lot less when Rubio is directing traffic.

Its not all bone headed plays by Wiggins though. Its also that Rush guy; he isn't as bad as Wiggins but he makes some glaring errors. Put the 2 of them together... and uhhh ya.\ i think Towns and Rubio are above average defensively. I think Wiggins is very bad and Rush is below average on defense. I don't watch them enough to have strong opinions on the other players on the team. Outside of those 4 guys, generally, their defense ain't great. any one can look up the offensive stats of these players. so i thought i'd provide some insight into what i see them doing defensively. anyhow, the team is getting better. They're 1 game over .500 in the last ~45 games... so its not all doom and gloom.

![]() good news for Miami is that Dragic's sight is 100% even though the area around his eye looks horrible.

at the start of the year, with limited observations, i thought Rubio needed to be replaced. with more detailed observations, clearly, that is no longer my view. Rubio is doing a good job. Where is my confirmation bias there? I even outlined the tipping point in my view of Rubio around game 40 of the season. I have zero invested in how Wiggins plays defense. I could care less. The guy is a lousy defender. I've already posted the defensive metrics on him. They have not changed as the season has progressed.

If the communication breaks down when Rubio leaves that's not on Wiggins that's on Rubio s replacement. If when Wiggins left the court the defense was way Better that would support your post. This is just another time where the more you write it shows how little you actually understand the game. But the main issue was you claiming he was making people look like kobe, which was laughably wrong. no it was a joke.. it was not a main issue. Kobe's performance varied wildly throughout his long career. i provided a more precise description of what was going on. but if you want to latch on to a joke and go on and on about it rather than have a discussion about Wiggins poor decision making that is reflected in his defensive #s.. have fun. i've already presented several defensive metrics in the past. you have provided none. you have no piece of objective evidence that Wiggins is even an average defender. By every metric and observation Wiggins defense falls somewhere between below average and very bad. As long as all he has to do is cover 1 guy far away from the hoop he is fine. as soon as he gets involved in making a decision about a screen or getting into a rotation or help situation then Wiggins makes a lot of mistakes and relies on his team mates to make smart decisions to cover for him. Pull a team mate off the floor who makes smart moves on defense and WIggins gets exposed... like he did last night.

And this Markkanen guy is a potential top-5 pick? He seems pretty good. Though I suppose it's against the 15 seed.
