He said something stupid, but clearly had no racist intentions, he apologized before it could go anywhere it shouldn't and after 12 hours you can't find it on any front pages anymore. No one got to try to make it more than it was and no one tried to downplay it or hide it and suddenly it isn't really an issue at all.

When someone noticed he clarified what he said before anyone could make anything more of it than it was. It was exactly the right thing to do before either the over correct could turn it into racism and the racists could use it as a "legitimate" quote.

He used like a phrase that has the word monkey in it when describing a play involving a german player, except it had nothing to do with the guy being black and is just a common phrase that can be used on anyone. Since the world is so PC he corrected himself quickly. He shouldnt have to but he did the smart thing and did it. No issue, everyone move on. It didnt even make english Media which says enough of how much of a nothing burger it is.

So he said something like "Rüdiger soll nicht den Affen machen" or "Rüdiger soll sich nicht zum Affen machen"(not sure exactly anymore which he used) which means, Rüdiger shouldn't be apeing around or Rüdiger shouldn't make himself look like an ape. The thing is, this is probably the most commonly used German idiom at all. It's such a common phrase. It literally means "don't make a fool of yourself" and has no racist connotation at all. It's no biggie at all yet as you can imagine: immediately the social media was triggered and he was forced to apologise. In other news: Wiedwald is joining Leeds for <1,000,000€ which is a crazy steal. He was never as bad as he was made out to be and his 2nd half of the last season was for the most part phenomenal. A big reason, next to Kruse and Bartels, why Werder could do what they did. If he would be coming from an English club he probably would have a 15,000,000 price tag on him

Terrible mistake from werder if you're right. You have to ask PL clubs twice the price, there is also a 50% increase on English players base price, resulting in £50 millions Stones or £34 millions Pickford etc On June 30 2017 23:40 sneirac wrote: Nope, completely gone before it could become a story. Letting go of Ake, maybe I can understand a little. With Azpi a deserving permanent part of the back 3, there's no room for another small sized centre back. Just bad luck for Ake, who played very convincingly in his limited appearances. But Chalobah......we don't need Bakayoko to hinder his growth...
