Olympic basketball is already kinda irrelevant because the US team is unbeatable :p @ Duck they've won all but 4 gold medals to date (the most recent non-US was Argentina in 2004 and it was a big upset iirc)

This team was beatable but we just choked hardcore and their players chose the final to start hitting every shot. Oh well, our first basketball medal in 20 years.

I dont follow it either, but afaik USA is lightyears ahead of everyone else. Remember Space Jam? It's like the aliens vs the looney toons before drinking the "magic" water.

They won 9 of the 12 amateur golds. In the other 3 they sat out in 1980 for the boycott, controversially finished with silver in 1972 and still refuse to accept the medal, and got bronze in 1988. Their all time record in olympic play was 85-2 before 1992
