Yeah having pretty much sealed progression pervious years, Arsenal have gone on to beat them at their ground. Making the tie actually close on agg. We needed it though, gave us hope we can progress from first two games fk up.

Put a decent manager in city who is not, Mancini/Pellegrini and they might have actually achieved something with all its money. You can't defend the club who wastes £100 million each transfer window and doesn't even achieve anything in Europe other than a R016 defeat, or 2 premier league titles? in 5 years or so. As much as i don't like Pep, put him in City for a few seasons and he makes them a pretty good squad and makes them a well oiled team with a face. At the moment they still do the poor city things of the past where they do not turn up and get beat without even looking like they are trying. Not saying they should go unbeaten but its the manager of which they lose or drop points, they just look average. Yesterday Sevilla for large parts of the game were making City look average again. That should not happen imo or wouldn't with a decent manager on board. /morning rant

City are competing on all fronts in England and in Europe but the managers they choose do not let them go very far. Anyone who spends £100million for 3 seasons straight should have more than 1 league cup and 1 league title to his name and R016 max in champions league TT Ehhh. That Villareal team was built on a shoestring and it also got second place once. Literally a shoestring. He also has the dubious honor of coming second in a league with 96 points in a season, he got kicked because RM is frivolous and wanted Mou. Something everyone regretted later. Considering Mou's return at RM being similar to Pellegrini's at City so far with a superior squad, would you call him a worthless Manager ? Didnt think so. As far as I see it hes only been manager for 2 seasons. The last one being somewhat disappointing but nothing to call him worthless over. The spending is somewhat high true, But this season hasnt ended so you cant really count this one. Your counting 3 seasons worth of spending when one of them has just started. He cant win things that havent ended you know :p. That having been said, having money and using it well is a different art to building good teams without money. One poor season (poor in the sense that they came second lel) The language you are using is somewhat exaggerated to make your point. Which means there really isnt too much evidence to suggest he is "useless"

Yes this season still going but other than winning the premier league which they have a possibility to do, they are not winning the champions league and will be hunting for domestic cups. Everyone who watches city has no idea what they do in terms of style. This is optimized when they go and play 45 minutes of trash football vs Newcastle, should be 3-0 down, come in some how at 1-1 then go absolutely crazy and win 6-1. They are so up and down with the downs being crazy and the ups being that of the team they should be. Who's fault does this come down to the manager? Mancini was the same, he played stupid systems and the team was never "up for it" when they were poor. Then Pellegrini comes in and its the same story, no different. Sometimes they are world beaters looking great, two weeks laters people questions the hunger and desire/attitudes. Im pretty sure you give Pep that team next season which is looking likely and boom they have an identity and are a force. I also as a point think Man City should be classified as one of the "elite" jobs in the world of football due to the financial backing they have and the fact they are in the rich league of England.

I am happy that BVB is not 0-1 down vs a club that i can neither pronounce nor show on a world map and have never heard of before Holy fuck Aubameyang is a fucking life insurance if i have ever seen one. I can't believe how he went from "i cant even run with a ball" to "i'll just shoot this world class goal, no problem guys" in a year or two

Minus the likes of Messi etc. He has bought trash or bought good players and not used them. Isn't that the usual thing in England these days?
