Should be faster too. Yeah they're all wired via headsets anyway, why make this awkward deal when you could have an extra ref just reviewing the footage? To be honest there should be less technology in football and more investment in educating referees. There's no point even having referees if in the future computers will be able to tell if its a foul or not.
Edit: no referees is a bad thing for football btw.

Yeah I would like that to happen too, but as long as you only rely on human referees there will be miscalls because of obstructed views, really light contact that becomes significant because of high speed or just too much stuff happening too fast.
And with instant replay on high def screens in stadiums and at home you get shitty situations because of unreasonable fans and the general audience. I'm sure you as a Chelsea fan will be able to tell us hours of stories of terrible ref calls and you'll even have a point on maybe half of them.
You can't really turn the technology in football back without either getting fans/commentators/players to be reasonable or reducing the quality of the broadcast. Option a) is just impossible and I'd rather have just a figurehead referee announcing decisions from the video ref than ask myself if that goal was offside or not because no replay is shown.

Imho the most interesting thing is, that the model the US are choosing for how the videoref works is massively different from the model coming in Europe this season. the UEFA has obviously looked at the NHL, which has its known plusses and minusses (especially in footy). But in a way it probably also appealed the UEF that you could test it without actually applying it to the game. The MLS way instead almost has to be tested live, but it looks very interesting. For the moment I like it more (but lets have a season to look at it before judging). But I doubt, that the UEFA pride would allow them to implement the MLS system over their own, no matter what the tests show. Which is kinda sad. Give it a fair chance.

Yeah i will get it ready for after gameweek 1 promise! Most of the other leagues will start next weekend anyway.
But Hull with 9 first team players are currently taking on Leicester!

Leicester City seem rusty as hell. Hull city are running circles around them currently.
|
30 minutes in and Leicester already have two yellows.
|
Could not the referee carry a device with a screen and look the action there?
|
Amount of money for the tech and extra cameras would make the $$$ amount have leagues cry foul I'd imagine. That and there are probably patents already in place.

Hull City just scored via a bicycle kick.

Can there even be a shared goal rofl.
Leicester looked very sloppy with their passing. Think gray is not having a good game. Already missing Kante it seems.

Also Vardy punched himself.

Yeah Leicester are playing very offensive, they bought in Mendy from Monaco to be Kante replacement but in this game its 4-4-2 with Musa and Vardy up top and Drinkwater and King as centre midfield.
Think they need to change the formation quickly or at least personal.
