Pretty much confirms Pogba has/is going. No way they can afford that kind of money?

No way they can afford that kind of money? di Marzio was reporting that Higuain deal isn't reliant on Pogba as Juventus has the money, also they have bunch of good players to sell like for high price tag like Zaza, Asamoah or Pereyra.

They activated the release clause, which naturally is on a high side. This is how I would try to rationalize it (im just rationalizing I dont agree with it) They are only paying half now half next year from what i hear, plus many players they have picked up are pretty young so they are looking to invest in someone for the now. The core backline is getting old which is their next problem to address. So even they still have some young guns coming up.. they cant keep doing that any more, not only did Conte leave because he was being offered the Italy job, he left also because Juve wasnt willing to pay the big bucks.. now 5 years of Serie, 1 UCL final, and a heartbreak against Bayern last year, its time for them to think about the next 2 years and try to be more relevant at the European level as one of the big players. I think he is grossly overpirced but due to lack of number 9's and the excess money Juve has, and it has quite a bit from what I understand (especially with Pogba leaving), he will complete the team. if someone came and told me XX million and I'll give you the missing piece of your puzzle (CL) I'd say fuck yes. There's a lack of number 9's and the man broke league records. And he fits quite nicely imo. He really only choked Messi into retirement, if you can look past that the guy finishes as good as any number 9 around, his movement is also very good and he can fit nicely into the system. But again this could also turn out to be a total fail. He will still bang in the domestic goals but against higher level opposition if Juve is getting outplayed he will be quite absent. So much money for a player who is almost 29 years old? Even if he was 20, it would be way to much for a player like him. He is good, but way below 90m € good. Hey hes only a few days younger than me, I always measure how young I feel by pretending Higuain is still in his mid 20's so dont point that out and take it away from me please.

To add to it, if they don't sign a big striker this year, they would be wasting a year. Not saying that they wouldn't win any games, but missing a top 9 would probably cost them a qualification against a big team in the ro8/ro4 in CL. And passing a round at that stage gets you a few more millions just from the CL prize pool (not counting the shirts and tickets you'd sell for this kind of games). In the end it's maybe 10-15 millions at risk? Plus the risk to lose the Calcio; in the end if they don't buy him this season but buy someone else for 60M next season, the financial results will be similar. It's the rule of supply and demand, if there's only one top tier 9 available, he's going to be pricey!

What are you going to do for the 2-3 years they take to get their feet wet ?

If I think back when Bayern won "double" 2004, 2005 or 2010, such double had a very big meaning for Bayern. But nowadays? pffffffffff, the same with Juve and PSG now.

Im not sure if people remember but it was quite annoying for me personally because I had no idea how hype they were and it sounded like those 2 additions had just turned them into the dream team for all ages passed and to come.
