Both the players and the fans wanted that Ancelotti continued. But Florentino is Florentino. With 9 coaches in 12 years You can't have any stability. And He will continue buying/selling players personally without asking the coach what he needs (or someone with knowledge of football and equilibrium of squads). The classical Florentino Bullshit. As an Barcelona fan I'm glad. Florentino 3 leagues in 12 years pleases me.

I'm not blaming Ancelotti, he has to play with all the stars because it's marketing > all in Perez' RM. How can you beat top teams when you have to field CR, Bale, Benzema, Kroos and James? Nevertheless, this year they didn't win anything and Barça is going for the treble; when you have such a rivalry, it's normal to be fired. Keeping him won't improve the situation either... For a coach to be really succesful in Madrid, he'd need to have the power to decide everything. Mou tried that and Florentino gave him more power than other coaches, but Mou ruined RM's image, and that was it for him. This club is bound to have success one year out of 5 and fail the rest. They have stars, but no long-term project. We never see Madrid's fans complain about that though, so who are we to judge how this club should be run? ![]()
