I think this is a mistake. Ancelotti did a great job and the market for high level coaches isnt that big at the moment (i dont see Klopp going to Real). Guys like Pep or Mou also won nothing this season and they are completely fine.

The problem is that R.Madrid change of coach too often, and when they change coach they start a new project with a new style of play. Benitez is like going back to Mou, and Real Madrid fans are very prone to criticize defensive play. Ancelotti was loved because He didn't play defensive like Mou/Benitez.

Both the players and the fans wanted that Ancelotti continued. But Florentino is Florentino. With 9 coaches in 12 years You can't have any stability. And He will continue buying/selling players personally without asking the coach what he needs (or someone with knowledge of football and equilibrium of squads). The classical Florentino Bullshit.

As an Barcelona fan I'm glad. Florentino 3 leagues in 12 years pleases me.

Florentino makes a lot of money and that is the biggest priority for RM anyway. His first term with RM was just as bad looking at how much money was invested, bringing in the likes of Beckham and Ronaldo when you already have Raul and Figo while selling Makelele. But the money invested was returned 10 fold.

Ancelotti's Real Madrid never impressed me. Last year they were never in the race for the league and they were going to lose the CL until the 89th minute. This year they only were impressive during 2 months, when it mattered the least (middle of the season, groupstage of CL).

I'm not blaming Ancelotti, he has to play with all the stars because it's marketing > all in Perez' RM. How can you beat top teams when you have to field CR, Bale, Benzema, Kroos and James? Nevertheless, this year they didn't win anything and Barça is going for the treble; when you have such a rivalry, it's normal to be fired. Keeping him won't improve the situation either...

For a coach to be really succesful in Madrid, he'd need to have the power to decide everything. Mou tried that and Florentino gave him more power than other coaches, but Mou ruined RM's image, and that was it for him.

This club is bound to have success one year out of 5 and fail the rest. They have stars, but no long-term project. We never see Madrid's fans complain about that though, so who are we to judge how this club should be run?

As a Barça fan, I don't want this to happen to my club, but not everyone see football the same way...
