The one bright spot for Spurs is that Joe Lewis (the owner) was at the match. Hopefully he takes pity on MoPo after seeing our defense/central midfield and makes funds available. Then again, when we desperately needed a striker during the 2010-11 CL campaign, he backed Harry with 74 year old Louis Saha on loan. edit: the most important thing is for Levy to show patience and allow Pochettino to build something. In Rodgers' first season Liverpool finished 7th.

Yeah that was a clear pen in injury time there, but Phil Dowd is not the reason Liverpool have battered Tottenham 12-0 over the last three games. Naive defending versus one of the leagues most potent and quick attacks is the reason. This was just same procedure as last year. Now go Leicester!

I never said it was the reason. The reason Liverpool went from finishing 7th every season to bashing Spurs 12-0 over three matches is very simple: Liverpool have lost £140m in the transfer market over the last four seasons, and Spurs have made a £39m profit over that same period. Liverpool's wage bill is also substantially higher. One club is ambitious and the other has an owner who is determined to build a new stadium so that he can sell in a few years. What you call "naive defending" I call "poor players." Kaboul has been one of the worst defenders in the league for the last two seasons and he's still starting against last year's runners up. Danny Rose is so mentally weak that he had to be substituted last season because he couldn't handle abuse from Stoke fans, and he's still starting against last year's runners up. Bentaleb is 19 and very inexperienced, and he's starting against last year's runners up in central midfield. Pochettino asked for Schneiderlin, and he's going to get a £4m midfielder from Montpellier instead. I could go on, but I think you get the point.

So poor by Leicester. The defenders just left Sanogo completely clear.

Wasnt ment as an attack, sorry if it came of that way. The 140 you speak of is about 40 too much by the way. Allowing players like Sterling that much space is naive, even if its MK Dons playing. I agree Liverpool is a more ambitious club, and it should only be as expected when we beat Tottenham. I still maintain that extremely naive defending is what cost Tottenham though, and its not only the back four Im talking about when I say defending. Tottenham have looked strong in their first two games though, I have no doubt they´ll be ready to pounce if Liverpool or Arsenal slip up. Best of luck.
