If I were the successor of Ferguson I would have sold ~9 of top11 players instantly.

No wonder that nobody except Ferguson can win games with such players. If I were the successor of Ferguson I would have sold ~9 of top11 players instantly. Maybe their qualities were excellent for Ferguson's style specifically which is why he bought them? Selling 9 of starting XI would not be very good PR for a club like ManU haha

Yeah even when Ferguson was around, no one considered ManUtd players world class individually but SAF just made them good together ^^

"Unfortunately, I have to go but I want to make clear that this was never my desire. Like anyone who works, I've always wanted to progress." Sadly, now I have to go, but I want to make it clear that this was never my wish. I've always wanted to progress, as anyone else does in their job. I went to the World Cup after winning the 'Decima' with the hope of getting some signal from the Club Management, but it never came. Many things were said and many lies circulated. They always wanted to pin the idea of leaving the club on me, but that's not how it was. Unfortunately, my football isn't to someone's taste. The only thing I asked for was a fair deal. In the second half Real Madrid played better when Di Maria entered the pitch. It's logical because he is the best player they have". im actually very sorry for Di Maria ![]() Now he have to play with Cleverley and Fellaini instead CR, Bale and Kroos :/

I think the current state of things is largely the legacy of Ferguson, his fault, if you will. He never bothered to get any proper replacements for the old guys that have all retired now. The young guys are all lacking in talent (except maybe Januzaj), some of the talents that did not amount to anything are still around, there really are some spectacularly bad players in the first team. On the whole I think he failed to bring in the right young players. He had an amazing gift to do well with what he had, but perhaps his unlikely success left him blind to the quality of players he eventually left to his successors. He left United in a very bad shape, a shape that Moyes was never going to fix, and it is only a matter of time before LVG has a major falling out with someone and leaves the club too. It is good that United are expected to have world record revenue this year, they can afford Vidal and should probably just take the risk on his knee. But what do I know.
