Sevilla 1-0 before the break. Well worked by Bacca and Vidal got lucky with the rebound.

I really don't like Wishere much, just an average player to me. Also has a nasty tackle in him which he displayed today. Giroud also made a big difference. You can complain that he isn't clinical enough, which is true, but he does always get into good dangerous positions which leads to scoring chances. All in all it's a really decent result for Arsenal versus Everton away, especially considering they were down 2-0. I think they still need a bit of time to settle as a team but they should be strong in season if they can avoid those crippling injuries. Giroud was needed because Arsenal lacked a focal point in the attack. With Alexis it was basically a strikerless formation. I wonder if Lukaku's role in that game will become more popular with other teams. Playing a small guy in the center with a tall and strong guy out wide lets the big guy boss the full backs around (who are usually shorter than center backs), and can also drag center backs out of position if they try to challenge the wide player themselves.

Nasty elbow has Rodrigo sent off a minute or two into his debut. What a dunce. And Diego Alves nearly getting sent off as he almost recreates the infamous Schumacher GK rush. Here's the red card offence. Young player for Sevilla wearing a Cech-style helmet. I suppose that'll be standard issue in the future. Orbán playing the role of super-sub and scoring with his shoulder (:D). Valencia on even terms, but with one man less than Sevilla. Full time: Sevilla 1-1 Valencia.

Also off all the players in that squad the only ones who stick to the middle are Kroos, Modric and Alonso, everyone else has a dominant side but play Free for the most part with lots of interchanges. He is probably going to change 4-2-3-1, Mata and Di Maria on the wings, Rooney in the middle. Now he needs DM next to Herrera.

That would be a waste on my eyes....but the only way to fit him and not putting Mata on a wing would be to either have him play even more as a CM than he plays in RM or to change to 4-4-2 diamond (with Di Maria CM left, Herrera CM right Mata AMC and Rooney RVP as strikers...but Im not sure that would ever work). As such, Im not seeing how can Di Maria fit there...maybe you are right but it still seems like a waste for me ![]()

Yeah I don't think he fits in 3-5-2, but for a 4-3-3 variant I think Mata will be first choice in the middle, Januzaj/Di Maria on the wings and Rooney will play in the position where the first choice isn't available/needs rest, which between 4 players should be every game. This is very bad news for valencia and young imo.

![]() Who is going to play RB at Manu? I dont remember where i read it but LVG planning to sell Rafael because he dislikes his work ethic or something like that. Otherwise you have to put either Di Maria or Mata on bench. You know how good Di Maria on wings as well.

Yeah I think Rooney will be a starter, just not in a fixed position.
