Also off all the players in that squad the only ones who stick to the middle are Kroos, Modric and Alonso, everyone else has a dominant side but play Free for the most part with lots of interchanges. He is probably going to change 4-2-3-1, Mata and Di Maria on the wings, Rooney in the middle. Now he needs DM next to Herrera. | ||

That would be a waste on my eyes....but the only way to fit him and not putting Mata on a wing would be to either have him play even more as a CM than he plays in RM or to change to 4-4-2 diamond (with Di Maria CM left, Herrera CM right Mata AMC and Rooney RVP as strikers...but Im not sure that would ever work). As such, Im not seeing how can Di Maria fit there...maybe you are right but it still seems like a waste for me  | ||

Yeah I don't think he fits in 3-5-2, but for a 4-3-3 variant I think Mata will be first choice in the middle, Januzaj/Di Maria on the wings and Rooney will play in the position where the first choice isn't available/needs rest, which between 4 players should be every game. I dont remember where i read it but LVG planning to sell Rafael because he dislikes his work ethic or something like that.
