Canada out shot them something like 69 to 11. if Women's hockey continues to be just a contest between 2 countries it'll get removed as an olympic sport. i'm cheering for closer games and i hope the rest of the world catches up with the USA and Canada. i was glad to see the Finland/USA game end up 3-1. i think Finland is ranked #3 in the world.

I mean, I'm happy we won, and I'm happy it wasnt a worse blowout. Remember 8 years ago? No one even came close to scoring on Canada or the US, and they would blow everyone completely out of the water worse than this. I want the sport to stay and i want it to continue, but for the goalie to let only 5 in on 69 shots, thats a really good performance. It will take time for the rest of the team to catch up and years of training and rotation. But the other countries are getting closer, and hopefully this convinces more girls to pick up the game so they can play womens hockey when older.

Bjoerndalen does only half of the World Cup nowadays. Annoying as hell to see him winning here but the Olympics are always the place were bizarre things happen.

We beat USA and took the silver 8 years ago. Edit: And for the men it went Gold Sweden, Silver Finland and Bronze for the Czeck. It was a good year. On February 09 2014 00:59 mjuuy wrote: bizarre? He touched the ground twice which seemed like it was a pretty big deduction (1st time watching this stuff). There is no explanation than the judges/referees is really really terrible (or corrupted), the score was too low for Sandbech (should had been 93 at least or more) also McMorris should had higher score.

So yes, the Olympics lare always weird, just like this morning when Kotsenburg won the gold medal. PS : And just like Vincent Jay who won in 2010 despite being nowhere near the top in his whole career.

Olympics are only weird in the meaning of that the favourites have it a lot harder to win because of all the pressure on them. Don't be bitter just because your Frenchman didn't win... All three deserve their medals

There is no deserving something in sport. There are winners and losers. All of these people are working their asses off to win, all of them deserve to win. But there can only be one.

I grew up watching him, he is as close as a "youth idol" I ever got. I just literally jumped all over the house SO HAPPY Also yes, I'm Dutch and somehow I care more about Bjørndalen than the whole speed skating thing. I don't know why either.

Thats kind of depressing. Normally wouldnt believe some silly magazine trying to drum up interest, but given its happened before its hard not to take it seriously ><
