My question for the Portland doubters is is there something about their play this year that you don't like or do you just expect their numbers to go back to what they were last year? Again, I think saying they could get to the WCF is a stretch, but anything up to that seems in the realm of possibility. 1.) Wesley Matthews was shooting 50+ % from 3 on high attempts. I doubt that would keep up. 2.) Batum was playing out of his mind. But this isn't surprising at all. 3.) Lillard and Aldridge weren't playing as good as their stats suggested - high ppg on high fga with below average efficiency. This was especially brutal for Aldridge since he was playing 40 mpg and taking 20 shots a night. That's bad news. So the Blazers were winning mostly do to 2 players, 1 of which couldn't keep shooting so hot (although he improved in multiple areas). The other 2 guys were actually weighing them down. But if Aldridge can get back to his above average efficiency self like the beginning of last year with high usage they'll be fine. I just dont think it will happen. Their defense is wishy washy but I think we need to wait a few more games on that one. And holy fuck. Kyle Korver has aim bot. If he was playing a FPS he would be banned from every server on the goddamn planet. Dude doesn't fucking miss. Dude is underrated. Drafted him in every fantasy league because he'd get a lot of playing time this year Korver is thought of as a spot up shooter but he's a solid playmaker and actually plays defense. Biggest reason Hawks (and Bucs) are losing games is due to injury. With Korver Atlanta is a dangerous team. Missing Gustavo Ayon and Louis Williams also set them back. Korver's shooting is actually sustainable since he was near the top of the league in efg% last year. Last thing: Lebron, Chris Paul and Paul George are the top 3 players in the league right now. Just absolutely dominating.

I like how Durant said (again) he's tired of being #2. Dude might've gotten his wish, just in the wrong direction. Given the weaknesses in the rest of his game (compared to Lebron and George), just being the scoring leader by a point or two isn't enough. Normally "Steal of the night" is pretty stupid, but this really was pretty beautiful from 2 nights ago. http://www.nba.com/video/games/heat/2013/12/04/0021300264-det-mia-play6.nba Helped that the Heat were as disinterested as I've ever seen them. I kind of expect a thrashing when we play them on Sunday. If that one's competitive, I'll be a lot more optimistic about this team. Also, Drummond is starting to get that baby hook. Watch out, league.

I actually agree with most of it especially if you are a young American male. http://boldanddetermined.com/2013/11/07/18-things-every-18-year-old-should-know/ I thought it was pretty silly or obvious (work out when you're young!) until I got to this: "13) Feminism is a sick joke Young man, you’ve been sold a bill of goods with the whole feminism thing. Let me explain in perfect english the reality: Western women were never discriminated against, there is no such thing as ‘rape culture’, women aren’t paid less for the same work, feminism is not about equality. Feminism is about women trying to be men without any responsibility. Feminism has left you with a pool of women who are truly insane. Solution? Kick dirt in the face of feminism." Holy shit dude what an idiot liar. "Western Women were never discriminated against," is that why they couldn't vote or own land for over a hundred years or a billion other things. For one, writing off college like that. While it's not the path to success it used to be, he's treating it like it's a complete waste of time. First off, he's assuming that everyone who goes to college has the same goals as he does, which appears to be to get rich as quickly as possible. Obviously if this is your goal college (liberal arts degrees specifically) isn't the best choice for this, but he ignores the fact that if you want a fallback/a relatively high chance of good employment in the non manual labor or retail space college is probably still your best bet. It won't get you rich, but it'll get you a steady job. Second, his whole "move to SE Asia" thing. He cites his own life as an example, but as far as I can tell he's making a living by writing on the internet, which one could do anywhere in the world. It also ignores the non-monetary reasons one wouldn't want to move to Asia- some people don't like traveling, don't like living in unfamiliar conditions, don't want to be half the world away from their families (this seems to be targeted at US teens in particular), etc. And that's not even to mention that doing as he suggests and trying to become an entrepreneur straight out of high school is kind of insane. He might be an edge case and have some knowledge/background but the average high school graduate certainly won't, and advising them to just pack up and move to SE Asia and just...start a business venture comes across as both far-fetched and stupid to me. Plus his whole "smarter-than-you" tone and woman/feminist hating is really off putting. edit- ^yeah it's sad. Rose always speaks convincingly so when he says he loves basketball, Chicago, etc., I believe him. That said, it seems like his surgery went well and I have high hopes of him returning to form next season- he was looking a lot better right before he got injured and even when he was struggling it looked like the athleticism was still there, his problems were all to do with rust. We're stuck with him for several more years at a max contract anyway so I hope that he really can play basketball at his peak form. I don't see the organization amnestying him (not using it on Boozer is looking better and better in case we need to use it if Rose really can't come back or w/e) as Chicago still loves him and I feel like the fanbase would still revolt if we try to cut ties (and I do think it's still too early to even think about doing that)
