All they were doing was dribbling the ball up the court and shooting a terrible long three or driving to the basket with no defense at all. Looked like terrible basketball to me.

Yep, not my kind of basketball, haven't watched any of the all star games for years. Don't mind the three point shootout and occasionally the dunk contest, but the actual games? No thanks.

I hate the dumb one-on-one duels and that it's far less intense than a D-League scrimmage. It's good experience for the young guys to be part of the AS weekend but it's borderline if you can even call that game 'basketball'. Then again I'm not really a big fan of the AS weekend in general. They should make the game meaningful (like winning team get homecourt advantage in Finals or something). I get that it's 'just a bit of fun' but it could be so much more if the NBA really wanted.

I personally think that saturday is the best because its awesome skills from basketball, but the games are just a pick up game without them trying to hurt themselves for the actual season.

It's terrible organized basketball but since it isn't happening every night I'm fine with it. I approach the Rising Stars and AS game like a summer blockbuster, and enjoy it for what it is. Then the 4th quarter breaks out and it's actually some of the most intense basketball you will ever find outside of the playoffs and marquee regular season games. I find the entire weekend to be immensely entertaining, easily the best all-star event of all major sports, and that's with the dunk contest being miserable lately.
