The question is, what do they do with Dragic? They're obviously not going to contend this year and he would become easily the most valuable player on the block with his contract the way it is. With Bledsoe to come back soon, they have to keep him, right?

As for Kyrie, I'm slowly leaving the bandwagon because of overall record. He has to go .500 in that lousy conference some time.

As for Phoenix, I could still see them selling and tanking, considering they've lost Bledsoe for so long. Unfortunately for them, I think they've got something too fun going (from a product standpoint) and they've frankly won too many games to do so.

Phoenix can't tank at all, it also wouldn't make sense for them to do so. Now missing the playoffs wouldn't be a bad thing at all since they would get to pick in the top half of the draft and already have a ton of young players. Basically they are good no matter what they do, except signing Carmelo Anthony (thankfully that will never happen).

I mean tank as hard as possible, as in finish 13th in the West (which is still entirely possible considering the conference is stacked). I think we pretty much agree on this. As for Minnesota's front office, they don't have KHAN! anymore. On January 31 2014 14:08 Yezzus wrote: Yeah melo is a superstar he wouldn't go to a shit team with no market value LOL "Shit team"? I would take Phoenix in a Bo7 over the Knicks every day of the week, especially with Bledsoe. Hornacek has been a very pleasant surprise. Plus the Knicks have very few picks of value until 2018 and the Knicks still have Amar'e on the roster making $23M for next season, plus Bargnani's terrible contract while the Suns have an clever coach, a wealth of young, talented players, and a boatload of picks.

and no one in the west got robbed. the west is too stacked right now and every player on the team is deserving of an all star spot. cousins, davis, conley and dragic are all stars. so are lillard, lma, dirk etc. comes down to record i guess.

You are right, that is a better way to look at it. I still would've picked Dragic. I Hope he gets Kobe's spot, assuming he won't play.

You're 1 superstar away from being a serious contender and you want them to tank? I'd rather build a winning culture with these guys than "tank" The top 5 or so picks all have a lot of potential (Wiggins, Parker, Exum, Embiid, Smart). After that it's about as it always is. Phoenix would be crazy to tank at this stage. They'd have to trade Dragic and the only way I'd do that was for a top 5 pick (only because the top 5 in this draft project so well--and even then it's close). Realistically that's the best value they can get. Dragic isn't bringing back a superstar type player and his value is worth more than other guys in the league. He's a legit top 20 player this year. I think Melo could work in Phx but it depends on the asking price and what his longer-term intentions are (Last think they want is mere rental...).
