GG NO RE The win is nice but there's actually no real difference between a draw or a win tonight. AC Milan is on 8 points and Ajax has 7 so we'll have to win. If we had drawn we'd be on 5 points but if we win the next match against AC Milan we'll be trough anyway since we'd have a better head to head result. So yeh this game is more a morale boost than anything else.

If this procedure does not lead to a decision, criteria 6) to 8) apply; superior goal difference from all group matches played; higher number of goals scored from all group matches played; higher number of coefficient points accumulated by the club in question, as well as its association, over the previous five seasons. So, according to this, we have the following scenario: Arsenal 12 pts (+5 GD) Dortmund 9 pts (+4 GD) Napoli 9 pts (-1 GD) Dortmund advances IF: They beat OM or Napoli loses and ends with a worse GD than them or They tie OM and Napoli ties/loses Arsenal advances IF: They lose by less than 6 goals against Napoli or They tie/win Napoli advances IF: They end with the same result as Dortmund in Matchday 6 and they end with a better GD than Dortmund or Arsenal (would require a win of at least +5) or Dortmund loses and Napoli ties/wins This is my understanding. Correct me if I'm wrong. It's GD between the teams if they all tie, not overall, which is Arsenal +2, Dortmund +1, Napoli -3. Also if Napoli needs to win by 3, not 6, because +3 for them is -3 for Arsenal. Simply the scenario is: Dortmund: Needs to match Napoli's result vs. Arsenal or better it. Arsenal: Needs to not lose by 3 goals to Napoli if Dortmund wins. Napoli: Needs to beat Dortmund's result vs. Marseille, or beat Arsenal by 3.

The gist of it is that Napoli is in the worst spot and needs to win big to secure their spot.

Arsenal: goals 4-2, points 6 (game in Napoli to play) Dormund: goals 6-5, points 6 (game in Marseile to play) Napoli: goals 3-6, points 3 (game vs Arsenal to play) Permutations for last playday (only the non obvious one, i.e. those non settled by points): Dortmund & Napoli both tie or both lose their games: Dortmund advances due to better head-to-head record (4-3 goals scored in head-to-head, both have 3 head-to-head points) Dortmund & Napoli both win, then Dortmund advances. Napoli need to win by 3 goals, they advance; otherwise Arsenal will advance. Who will be 1st/2nd/3rd is more complicated, work this out on your own if you care. edit: Man I'm slow.

Chelsea is qualified. Basel qualifies with with W/D at Schalke, Schalke qualifies with Win (they are home) Group F: Dortmund: Needs to match Napoli's result vs. Arsenal or better it. (GD doesn't matter for them) Arsenal: Needs to not lose by 3 goals to Napoli if Dortmund wins. Napoli: Needs to beat Dortmund's result vs. Marseille, or beat Arsenal by 3. Group G: Atletico is first. Porto must do better at Atletico than Zenit does at Austria. Zenit must at least match Porto (good for Zenit, bad for Porto basically) Group H: Barcelona is qualified. Milan qualifies with W/D vs. Ajax, Ajax must win at Milan.

If Dortmund wins, I believe that Napoli will need to win by 4 to overtake Dortmund in the standings.

So there you have it! Win and we're in! Simple ![]()

True, but fact is that I'm so frustrated that Ajax gets somehow, someway degraded by the referee/Uefa, look at the thing wat happened in Zagreb vs Lyon, or 2 years (or last year) vs RMA, the 2 goals which were rejected. Or even the penalty vs AC Milan this year. Just so happy that finally they win a top level game (what does matter) without throwing it away.

The supporter who fell during the first half of Ajax vs Barcalona died. Sources claim that he was under effects of LSD and withnesses said that the supporter thought he was a bird. He died from his wounds in the hospital.
