The culture of the south vs north differ that much in Brasil? City vs rural? I've always wanted to visit South America and the World Cup would be the perfect time. If only I wasn't staring down the barrel of so much debt thanks to law school right now.

I also want to visit South America in the near future but I wouldn't go during world cup :p. Tickets/hotels are way too expensive during this time imo. Unless you're a huge football fan who's willing to really shell out the cash.. I wouldn't find it worth it.

So now Vincent Tan is demanding that Crystal Palace be docked points, would it be a stretch to think he would want the points to go to Cardiff?

Everything is overpriced because of the World Cup, and you can be sure brazilians will "exploit" naive foreigners (especially the taxi/cab drivers). An important advice is to NEVER take an illegal/shady cab. They will likely charge you an absurd and arbitrary value for a ride. And, of course, as with any illegal activity, there are risks of robbery and other bad stuff.
+ Show Spoiler +I wouldn't call my case a "city vs rural" issue, it's something more specific to myself. Overall the brazilian culture, generalizing, is similar all around the country, but every state has it's peculiarities. I'd say it's related to habits, accents, looks, the way people interact among themselves, what is on local TV, what people talk about. Brasília is in the center of the country, and the diversity here is very high. There are people from everywhere, north, south, southeast of the country, and it is not that uncommon to bump into chinese, african, russian and other people from different nationalities. Where I come from everything is a lot more homogeneous, so I was not used to speaking to people with different accents, and the first few days I felt really off place, especially because of the accent/looks. Today I can say I'm used to it now, though, but my co-workers are always making fun of me (in a joking way, not mean or anything bad) because of my accent... It has been a really interesting experience. The people from northeast of the country are super chill and fun, easy to joke with and overall they look always happy. But I feel like I don't belong here, I want to go back to my state as soon as possible. I miss the southern girls, the colder weather and the MUCH cheaper apartment rentals (damned be these overly expensive tiny apartments), my family and especially my dog. Also, if you want to know South America, I don't think Brasília is a place worth to spend more than 1 or 2 days visiting, there is not much to see. In Brazil, my advice would be: For the summer (beach, hot girls): Rio de Janeiro is definitely a must go (to the richer areas only, of course) Recife has an extremely beautiful beach (but don't go swim in the ocean without a native, because of shark attack risks). Florianópolis is a beautiful island (many foreigners on Jurerê International Beach, and no risk of shark attack). Recife is summerly all year long, but Florianopolis is cold and rainy during winter (June through August), and since around May it becomes harder and harder to get beach-days, although it is not too rare to have a random heat wave. For the winter (wine, cosy, food, more chill/rural scenery): Gramado, Canela, Bento Gonçalves, Caxias do Sul. And since you are close, Punta del Este (Uruguay) and Buenos Aires (Argentina).
I'm sorry Pandemona, but I don't think England will go too far this year :d
If Germany can overcome the weather, they are the favorites. But the damn Argentinians would be delighted to win a WC here, so if Messi can get the team to work with him....

Atletico only need 3 wins in their last 4 games to take the La Liga title now, @Valencia, @Levante, vs. Malaga, @Barcelona. If they win the first 3, they are clinched before the last day vs. Barca.

So if they lose the last game and Real wins all games, they're equal in point with an inferior goal difference, right?

Atletico are 6 points ahead of Real with 1 more game played.

In La Liga the tiebreaker is head to head, not goal differential, and Atletico has a win and a draw vs. Real.

Why would you play Kane and Adebayor when you have Soldado?
Adebayor should be supporting Soldado, he can control high balls thanks to his height, and Soldado's finishing is pretty good. They can make a pretty good team, no?

Adebayor is really underrated imo. He's playing great this season.

mats møller dæhli has had a fantastic development over the past 2 months, been a long time since I thought a Norwegian was the best player in a PL match. I actually think cardiff can survive now, they're looking much, much better than 3 matches ago.

and whoa, shocking stoke statistic: This season they only have 2 goals from headers, the least of any PL team. (During Pulis' years, they never had a season with less than 9. )
