"This franchise … will be owned by the fans," Blank said. "It's to create a unique opportunity for you our fans, our owners, to feel that ownership and to help drive that uniqueness that soccer presents. So much of the uniqueness of soccer both in the US and worldwide depends on the local fans and how they feel … And I promise you we'll do that and do it forever."
So much so that he vowed to give the supporters the opportunity to have a say on the team name and the team logo which will consist of the colors "red and black with some percentage of gold in it."
That team will be playing at the new $1.2 billion stadium being constructed in downtown Atlanta that opens in 2017 and will be shared with the NFL Falcons. It will feature an artificial turf field — "a design requirement of the stadium" as he called it — but Blank promised that "there’ll never be an MLS game where NFL lines will be shown on the field."
And he made it clear the MLS club will have its own dedicated soccer staff aside from some "crossover [with the Falcons] in terms of some backroom operational stuff." The first MLS hire will be a team president and he will be given all the resources allowable to put a winning product on the field.

Color me pessimistic on MLS Atlanta. Don't see the people here really embracing a team that isn't the Atlanta Falcons, especially when we consider the fact that they didn't support the Braves when they were winning division titles year in and year out.

Sunday, April 20 - 18:00 CEST Besiktas vs Fenerbahce
If you looking for betting on this match, i suggest you to bet on Besiktas. Fenerbahce is pretty much confirmed for champions. If Besiktas wins they will probably go to CL directly, and Gala have to play in playoffs. I believe that Fenerbahce will lose this match on purpose. They prefer Besiktas over Gala.
Also you know that Fenerbahce is banned by UEFA, 2nd place will go to CL directly.

I don't even know why there's any discussion about whether Szczesny or Fabianski will play in the FA Cup Final. Fabianski has played every match so far and has been one of the team's best performers during this cup run. Let him finish the job.

The Atlanta team will play in a $1.2 billion stadium? Realistically speaking, many european teams would have a hard time filling it up. 65k people? idk :/

To be fair, it's main purpose will be American football. The upper sections of the stadium will not be used for the MLS team's games, so it'll actually have a capacity of about 20k for that.

That's standard for almost any goal attempt...

He's a 20 year old central midfielder with limited minutes this season. The reason me and bObaZ, along with every Benfica fan, were so ecstatic about the goal was in great part its context. The goal put Benfica through, and was scored at the 80th minute. Benfica was playing with 10 men for 50 minutes by then, and had been tied 1-1 early in the second half (needing two goals to go through). Porto is a hated rival who has dominated Portuguese football for 2 decades. This was the only competition that could still save their season. André Gomes had played in Porto as a young kid, but was dismissed from there at the time by Luis Castro, Porto's current manager. He had shown good quality but never flashes of brilliance compared to this goal.
To cap it all off, the crazy celebration even from not-so used players like Sulejmani and Djuricic, the explosion of happiness by the whole stadium, and the look of despair in Porto's evil president's face, was a great thing to see, as a fan. The cohesion and chemistry of Benfica's team right now is one of the most beautiful things a fan of a club can experience. If we don't blow it again and lose all 4 competitions we can win this year, it will be one of the greatest teams in Benfica's history.
Finally, a little homage to players like Enzo Pérez, Luisão and Maxi Pereira. While many people say football players are mere mercenaries in this day and age, these guys truly represent, live and breathe Benfica, even having been born thousands of miles away.

I like Benfica's youngsters, they have so much potential. Oblak, Markovic, Gomes, Rodrigo and Djuricic. I hope i didnt forget someone.
I also want to mention that i like Jorge Jesus :3 He's a really good manager imo.

Currently living in Brasília (only 5 months here), but I'm from the very south of the country (Santa Maria, in the state of Rio Grande do Sul).
I still feel quite a foreigner, the culture, the weather and the people feel so different :o
