they are better at the offensive, but Ribery is way better defensive and he is running 90 minutes. Both Ronaldo and especially Messi often take 10 - 15min breaks. Of course if Messi fires his turbo its pure magic.
I'm a huge Martinez fan and he played a near perfect season, but no defensive player will ever win that competition,

In fact, he's head and shoulder above the rest. Now, if Benzema could fucking wake up, that would be great. Against lower teams yeah maybe, just the last year anyway. He's never been as good as he is with Bayern. And I agree with the other guys before me, he's not the best player in Bayern... Müller, Schwensteiger, Lahm, all better than him. Robben is also more talented but a lot less regular.

seriously how are people saying that ribery was crap vs dortmund in the finals? I thought we had a poll right after about best player and it was like robben and ribery going toe to toe about being man of the match?

"Bayern are Robben Dortmund of the cup.. "
o dear..
I thought he played pretty well, no one seemed to care much since the thread was flooded people going apeshit over Robben, who to be fair was the best player that game atleast, just by virtue of actually scoring, but still/

Ribery changed his playstile last season. 2 or 3 years ago he got the ball and was searching for a 1v1 but on the last Heynkes year and now with guardiola too he is more like a wall player on the wing and the first got too pass station if the middle is not available.
He can still burst his turbo and go past almost anyone but he produces less "youtube" highlights. Right now he is closer to Iniesta as to CR or Messi in his way to play.
In the CL Final the MVP was in my opinion Martinez. But thats part of "best player of...." in football, you see the 1 goal but overlook the 10 potential goals prevented just by standing at the exact right spot. Ask Phillipp Lahm who was most likely the best right CB last season and didn´t even made the top10 at europes footballer of the year.

I thought we had a poll right after about best player and it was like robben and ribery going toe to toe about being man of the match? People forget and go wrong. Especially by tipping Robben for that game; before he scored the last-minute winner, he was failing very, very hard at finishing. Good for him that he usually creates more scoring chances than he can waste
Messi and Ronaldo are 'give me the ball and I'll shine' type of players. Ribery is more of a 'I'll win the ball, dribble through them all and set up a goal while my buddies collect all splendour' type. That type rarely wins anything other than quiet praises from their managers (where in FF elections were: Makelele, Scholes, Gerrard, Mendieta, Riquelme, Pires anyway?).
Ribery is the deserving; Messi will be the recieving because the temptation of lining up an infinite number of Golden Balls in hands of one player is just too strong, especially in a sitauation where that player had another great season of his sick career.

Hakan Sukur says Galatasaray agree personal terms with Arda Turan. They just need to talk with Atletico Madrid

I'm pissed that I fell asleep. I missed some good games.

I tend to think of Ribery as something of a Ryan Giggs type player. He is incredibly talented and very important but maybe has never actually stood to be considered the 'greatest' at any one time. I'm not sure you can compare the impact he has on games with the impact messi and cr7 have.

Given the choice of games I decided I couldn't be assed to watch Coventry vs Bristol and watched Manu vs Wigan and then Leicester vs Leeds. Both games I saw where boring as hell and the Coventry game ended 5-4. Man I pick bad.
Poor Coventry putting on a show in front of no one. At least they're up to -7 points now.

robben has been unlucky with injuries his whole career, which was a big reason bayern was able to get him back then, if i remember correctly. i think he had the talent to be one of the greatest players
