Point is sometimes you see scorelines that don't reflect the run of play, 2-0 blatantly does reflect the first half. Although Arsenal are playing better already this half, Wenger must have gone medieval on their asses.

Following a pitch inspection, we can confirm today's fixture vs MUFC will go ahead as scheduled at 4pm #COYS #THFC Oh my an Andrey Arshavin sighting! Ramires is so dirty. Fuck him. Oh God Demba Ba coming on, that's game. Enjoy your three points, Blues.

Now why wasn't Wilshire taking corners in the first half? He actually kicks it to where Arsenal players can head it at the goal.

We have to get more consistent. That first half was absolutely dreadful. Don't see how the top 4 should be unreachable, as it's 6 points to gain on in 16 games. Need to improve badly, though. I'd like to see us go back to 4-4-2, with Giroud and Walcott on top. And of course as I always do I have to state that we need a defensive midfielder real bad. Pick up Capoue or M'Vila, who seems to be on the move anyway. Glad that Spurs vs United will happen. Hope they put on a good show.

[rant]HEY ARSENE YOU DON'T NEED TO PLAY BACARY SAGNA AND ABOU DIABY (who is coming off a goddamn injury and isn't even fully fit yet) EVERY GAME WHEN YOU HAVE CAPABLE PLAYERS ON YOUR BENCH LIKE CARL JENKINSON AND AARON RAMSEY AND YOU DON'T HAVE TO PLAY SANTI CAZORLA AND JACK WILSHIRE EVERY GAME EITHER, ROTATE SOME PLAYERS ALREADY FFS THIS IS WHY YOU HAVE A 25-MAN ROSTER[/rant] sigh

Hope they put on a good show. They were playing with Giroud on top. To be honest, Giroud was disappointing he didnt win enough balls and the two centerbacks had no problems whatsoever with him. They needed to change it up into a front 3 with Walcott down the middle. I promise you they would have been for a fair bit more misery (and a fair few offsides). Naturally not having Poldi and needing some stability in midfield works against doing so. Add to that the fact that Coq and Diaby werent comfortable bombing forward enough because that would put the guy staying back under to much pressure. That cant happen. You need more fluidity if your going with a double pivot of sorts like Arsenal were. Ideally what makes most sense to me was taking Giroud and Coq/Diaby off (that was made easier with Coq getting hurt). Drop Wilshere back with license to go forward, Walcott down the middle and put some guys out wide of him so he doesnt stray out all the time. Im not saying thats what they need to play period in every gme but for this game if your alternative is so much better just change it up. Giroud playing the old fashioned CF wasnt working. Wenger does some bafflingly stubborn things.
