Meh, just saw that Dimsun's weightclass at the US nationals is today at 9.00am local time, but according to the website (http://weightlifting.teamusa.org/events/6949) the stream for the event only starts on saturday. Seems we won't see him live in action

Thanks Zaf, payday tomorrow and new shoes and new haircut and raping the gym, so it should be okay. It's just that I feel so awesome about myself, my 'game', my video game skillzZz etc. and when it's so blatantly my fault for faillure it's rough. Oh well, crying never got anybody laid, gonna go straight from work to dance from 11:30 to 01:00, if she's there I'll go for it, if she's not I'll latch onto something else. Just dance, dance, dance, that's my biggest fear.

infact ; after I forgot about the 1set of deadlifts by deadlifts went from 90kg as being to hard to 140kg as being easy within the space of a month and a bit so ...

Here's the deadlift routine I did to boost my deadlifts hugely ;

"Deadlift 1x5, using your 5rm maximum
Then drop the weight by 20%, rest 3 minutes and do

Deadlift 3x5, (at least 3 sets, if you can do more, do more!) but with only 1 minute rest between sets, 90 seconds at most. It'll burn, get it done."

What you really are saying is that one should keep working up to a single set with your 5RM and then back a little off and do some lighter sets where you focus on being explosive.

Sound advice although my preference is to keep the top set in the 1-3 rep range and then doing multiple sets of triples after it.

squat 60kg 4-3-2-2
bench 65kg 5-5-2 (arm started hurting so stopped, plus id reached my limit)
dead 70kg, 90kg, 95kg 1x5

so yeah looks like i am back down to 65kg bench *sob**** . and that was a damn struggle.

next session will attempt squat 60kg 3x5, bench 67.5kg 3x5 and dead 100kg

Deadlift 57.5 with double overhand grip, hard.

Question:
When I supinate the grip of my left hand (palm upward) I can deadlift way more. I don't think I can keep up with my squats with double overhand grip. Would you guys recommend me to change my left hand grip so I can start DLing heavier and keep up with squats, or should I continue with double overhand and probably fall behind on squats? Having trouble keeping form already, takes a lot out of me with this weight and this grip. SHOES ARE AWESOME btw.

Mixing your grip should only really help with Grip, not with the rest of your form. If your whole form is helped by going mixed grip, then unless you're actually dropping the bar during reps it's probably in your head.

If you're having trouble keeping up, just try increasing more slowly, eating more food and sleeping better.

DL is not for grip strength only, so use a mixed grip on your workout set and double overhand grip on your warm up sets Try to hold the weights for 5 second or so to build up more grip strength if you want.

Sounds good Neco, will do that. Another question; if I increase my DL with 7.5kg per session and lift 2x a week, and I increase my squat with 5kg each session and squat 3x a week, how will my DL overtake my squat? When I can't add 15kg a week on squat anymore?

Hey guys, i've posted in this thread a few times before but i recently started doing Starting Strength with a friend who also posts here and i figured i'd post some results and keep track of my progress here. I started 3 weeks ago.
Squat: 105lbs
bench/OH press: I've only been using the bar for this because my right shoulder is injured
Deadlift: 105lbs

That was 3 weeks ago, now my numbers are at...
squat: i got it to 185lbs but dropped it to 150 to work on my form.( i felt like i was leaning forward.)
bench/OH press: my shoulder is still to injured to put weight on the bar but its feeling much much better than b4.
Deadlift:205lbs (pretty happy about this, next week i'll be able to get 225lbs easy peasy.)

Also started working on power cleans last week, i still seem to need flexibility in my wrists and i have long for arms so positioning is tough. These are pretty difficult to learn. Also i was 150lbs when i started and im still 150lbs i just look a lot better, but i want to gain weight do i just have to eat more?

Oh yeah I definitely dont disagree with you there man I'm just beasting some volume to build strength and size at the moment thats how my routine is set out.

I will be switching to a power high weight low rep routine in a few months once ive bulked up to ~~85-90kg (80kg atm)

Just started using Fitday to track my calories and it says todays protein is 400% of RDA hehe .

Planning to lose like 8kg fat over the next 6 months, while hopefully building/maintaining the musclemass I've got so far. Think I'll have to eat alot more veggies than i do now though, I really hate them :D.
I have found the Iron to be my greatest friend. It never freaks out on me, never runs. Friends may come and go. But two hundred pounds is always two hundred pounds.

Yep, eat more to gain weight.

If you're struggling with pclean technique then do more warmups with lighter weight focusing on proper technique

I had problems with pcleans too today.

40kg was ok, easy for me, proper tehniques but when i loaded on 60kg i went like powerjerk. One of my legs didnt want to move and other went back like in jerk mode. Going to do more lowweight powercleans

Today:
squat 70kg 5-5-5-5 75kg 5
benchpress 55kg 5-5-5-5-5
powerclean60kg 2-3-3-3-3-2 or something like that, had hate in me losing my tehniques at higher weights.
