In testing so far removal is fine for standard. The problem is the lack of reliable burn outside of roast. Which is a horrid maindeck card. Plus the power of the dragons is going to make the meta innately go longer. I could see control match ups resolving them selves on winnoner and a mill card that doesn't exist yet. Aggro will win once again here at the beginning of the season as always.

Or the easier cost (3B instead of 2BB). I assume it's actually better if you just want to screw over tokens/thopters/some elves/etc. without killing your own bigger dudes. Blue seems meh from the cards I've seen. White has allies and lifegain, Black has effects pertaining to lifegain... Theros rotates out, right? So White loses a bunch of ways to create tokens. Red is both wheenies and fuck yo wheenies. And Green has a bunch of ramp and big guys/counters. Looks like green's ramp and big guys, or in general allies, would be good in limited. Is it me or is BFZ pretty lacking in removal/hard removal compared to Origins? Actually the ruling for Rising Miasma states that the -2/-2 effect takes place before the awaken and thus the creature land isn't affected by it IIRC. According to my experience with the set thus far, blue is very deep this time around and has excellent cards for limited. White has very solid removal and some good ally enablers. Black and red are much weaker this time around, and green synergizes with basically every strategy you would hope to run (except lifegain shenanigans). Removal is likely deliberately weaker in BFZ as Wizards has been trying to decrease the power level of standard for some time. The limited environment seems like a lot of fun despite all of the constructed complainers.
Double post because phone requoting is hard
The easiest way to go about resolving effects is yo just go in the order of the cards effects. Exceptions to this come from triggered effects in which case both triggers are activated and you choose the order they go on the stack. For example
Cards with modes like cryptic command list the order in a set of ors. As such of you choose modes 2 and 4 you have to do mode 2 before you do mode 4. In situations of miasma the land lives because its listed 2nd on the resolution of the spell.

Anyway, not sure where you at yet, but it's one of the better shows of the time, especially if you consider its awkward timeslot.

Since I travel a lot, I've repeatedly been alone in a foreign country in rather shady situations.
I've almost been mugged on several occasions, although thankfully I've always been able to realize what's about to happen and get away by jumping on a bus or something. I do realize that if you get robbed, the best "self defense class" is to not be a retard and just give them your money.
But what I'm more looking into is getting the self defense class to prevent against getting attacked by a dog. Because I've been attacked by dogs while travelling before and survived basically by sheer luck. My job in the US also necessitates that I have contact with aggressive dogs now and again.
There's also the story about the monkey, you guys remember that. That happened. I also got in a fistfight in Greece once that was entirely my own fault and ended with me losing nearly immediately.
So, I'm in Thailand for 6 months, that sort of thing is really cheap here, and obviously everybody in this country is Tony Jaa. I've got absolutely no martial arts experience, and have been looking around for a place in town that would give me a basic self defense class over a period of 3-4 months. But I don't really know what I'm looking for.
Is there anybody in TLOT who has experience with this sort of thing, and could tell me what I want or what I should be looking for? Is it a dumb idea?
Do tell. TYTY. Only post I really wanted to respond during my Disneyland vacation.
The first one that comes to mind is Muay Thai, regardless of the fact that you're in Thailand. There actually quite a few gyms that do "live-in training" for a couple weeks or months at a time, which are very reasonable considering you'll be getting world-class instruction for a fraction of the price you would get in the USA.
Muay Thai is absolutely perfect for your needs too, dogs? low kick the crap out of the little buggers. Get into fist fight with the locals? you'll learn how to clinch fight in those chest-to-chest confrontations.

Jokes aside, outside of an organized program (thats costs quite a bit of money), I can't imagine any programs recruiting <18 kids due to liabilities. Maybe a few volunteer programs, but even then, I'm not sure they're the kind you'd be looking to do.

Colorado is so dry. How do humans survive here I'm going to die.

I think I might dust my Golden Wilfred Fizzlebang. The card is so cool but I can't freaking get it to work.

So like, I could use this after I graduate this year and if my college lets me I can go abroad for a year before coming back and going into college freshman year?

NSLI-Y is something I've been looking into, and it's totally cool to do after graduating highschool but before college, since hte primary goal is to learn the language to foster potential government job prospects. It's something I'm applying to, but it's also rather selective and I have poor grades so I think a couple backups would be pretty wise.
Also this link is hilarious. Even funnier when I considered that Enix might actually name a game this http://www.animemaru.com/kingdom-hearts-2-999472-nights-4x3-announced-at-tgs/
