Because this is how you get mono red to win a pro tour. + Show Spoiler + <3 Boogie2988 Guy should really lose some weight though :/ // Anyone else feel that time goes by way too fast. Like the academical year is almost over and it really really doesn't feel like it. He's trying. He's currently too fat for surgery, so he has to go the normal way about it right now and that's super difficult at his weight. what makes it more difficult to eat less? the size of his literal stomach? I thought it was easy to lose weight faster when you were large cause it burns so many calories to do anything. Think about how much he eats. It isn't like a normal diet where if you cut a few hundred calories and do some exercising you can make a decent dent. A diet, for him, that would keep him level is so much more than you or I eat. Because he's so heavy, it's difficult for him to exercise properly. His back and his knees can't take a lot of wear because of how heavy he is, and that limits his ability exercise. Yeah, he's really fucking fat. He hates it and he's working on it, but he's crossed that point a long time ago where it just becomes harder and harder to lose weight. Either way, he's making progress. sorry i'm not following. if he is huge it means he has a huge base metabolic rate like you said. he only needs to deficit that to start losing weight whether he exercises or not. It is like a normal diet where he just has to eat less. I mean it makes sense that its hard mentally to choose to do so and i can sympathize with that as a smoker etc. but Its not a different amount of calories he needs to cut compared to us. 500cal less than base metabolic rate is a pound a week right? Let's say it is. Let's also assume he's able to maintain that for about 9 months of the year, because almost everybody puts on weight in the winter and lets err on the safe side that during those months he stays even. From the beginning of the year to the end, in this hypothetical, he'll lose ~40lbs. That's a lot of weight right? Yes and no. It's a lot of weight for somebody at about 200lbs, because it's 20% of their weight. For a guy his size(and I don't recall how much he said he weighed less, so I'm going to assume 400) that's a tenth and it brings him down to 360. He'll still be super fat and he probably won't be visibly very different. He would have to diet like that, again with an assumed weight, for 5 years to get down to 200 pounds. That's a long, hard, haul.
On the plus side, he's been sick for the last week and has lost 20lbs as a result.

But I'm only silver or gold, so if you really want good answers to these questions you need to find someone who is better than me at this, but I'm good enough to know that you're essentially saying things like, "BUT THAT ONE TIME JESUS BUILT TRINITY FORCE ASHE ON HIS STREAM SO IT MUST BE GOOD!" I'm not really gonna accept that im wrong just cause you said you have better credentials then me (wondering why you think you studied more than me?) when i stated and quoted my sources and you stated opinions. Anyway I'm off to the cottage for the weekend. sorry i was so instigating today. Hope game night is awesome tonight and i hope to read about the amazing wave meet up of 2015 when i return.
I don't expect you to simply assume you're wrong because I said I know better, but I do expect that if you're genuinely interested in trying to understand how a reasonable person could read the bible differently than you do you'll stop thinking about being right and wrong and start thinking about how things look from a different angle.
I realize this is the internet but I'm always hopeful about reaching understanding over winning arguments.

I really don't think a religious debate here is appropriate, I would like this thread to remain as open and accessible to new users as possible and pointlessly criticizing religion could seem unnecessarily hostile. Everyone is entitled to their own beliefs, whatever makes them happy.

I realize this is the internet but I'm always hopeful about reaching understanding over winning arguments. Just going to interject here for a second. You often hear the phrase "people experience the world differently". But it is truer than you think it is. In fact, ridiculously so.
I recommend this post from Slate Star Codex. But just as an extremely selective quote:
So the fact that people talk about what foods they like about a zillion times a day isn’t enough to make everyone realize liking foods is a thing.
If people don't understand simple concepts such as "knowing what food I like to eat" the same way, realise how complicated things will be in other parts of life. And as Seuss said, you're going to need to understand how other people can see things from a different angle.

Don't worry about it. Just read every one of his posts with a healthy dosing of /glib
See, instead of skirting the line as he was wont to do in OT, Scip has now done a full reversal and plays on the completely extreme opposite side - tryhard carebear. He gets his jollies off, no one gets hurt, and best of all, he doesn't get banned. There's really no downside.
