The dev environment is being refreshed today. My brain aches from boredom. Why isn't the tablet version of HS out yet?

I think I'd like your job Asmo. Do you ever encounter a situation that's remotely stressful
|
You...don't do dev refreshes after hours?
I've only seen dev down around here when there's emergency maintenance or something blows up - and that's been incredibly rare.

I don't. And it sucks. I'd kill to have something regular to do, some actual work every once in a while. T_T

Well apparently it takes like... 8 hours, so they do it during the day!

I DON'T EVEN KNOW SONIV.
It's probably indicative of my actual enjoyment of this profession that I spend half my time doing nothing. When I have a clear task, it's fun to work. When I'm waiting on one of X billion things to proceed, I go stir crazy.
Edit: Though, in my defense, I feel like I was lied to about what my actual day-to-day work would entail.

You could do something you don't enjoy all the time! :D
At my old job we weren't very busy and I understand feeling like you're not doing anything significant. Being able to watch the Day9 daily every morning was a pretty sweet routine for that time though.

Yeah idk... is it too much to ask to be working on something you care about? Building integration solutions for big companies in fking webMethods just doesn't do it for me. >_<
Then again, I could discover something about it that I love. Who knows?

That's pretty much how I'm approaching it at the moment. It's a plus I get compensated twice the amount I did at the other job too.

I hope I can find something in a few years in a field I actually have interest in. I know Farm Credit is actually really important to the country, but I have very little interest in agriculture ~_~
