I need to suggest more anime to JonGalt.
If you want a comedy, I'm not sure why you haven't watched Space Dandy yet. Made by the Bebop/Champloo guy: + Show Spoiler +
If you want something artsy and just super well made all around, watch Mushishi, it is a personal favorite of mine: + Show Spoiler +
If you want action, you could always go with Hellsing Ultimate (there was a remake, don't watch the original it's bad) + Show Spoiler +
If you want feels, I'd suggest Your Lie in April. I haven't seen it yet but I've gotten enough gushy THIS MADE ME CRY T_T testimonials from people to recommend it: + Show Spoiler +
If you want to watch the classics you need to start on your education in Miyazaki, bro. Start with Princess Mononoke, everybody starts with Princess Mononoke: + Show Spoiler +
Or you could just watch the best anime ever (lol): + Show Spoiler +
THERE'S YOUR HOMEWORK MR GALT

Speaking of that, our generation seems to be a bit more open minded than the last. What prejudices will our children scoff at us for?
@Ketera Thanks! I will check one of those out after I finish Code Geass.

Mushishi is absolutely amazing. It's rather melancholy, I'd say more feel than Your lie in April personally as it's less forced drama. So watch it with caution, you will be a heaping mess at times while being rather oddly content at other times.

Our prejudice against Newtypes.

According to the Gundam timeline we need like another 5 generations for that, unfortunately.

Yeah but Newtypes are basically Xmen it sounds like. And that timeline is right now!

GTO is good. Eva is lomo. CG is super-lomo. Death Note is ultra-lomo. Mushishi is boring.
|
Mushishi actually can be kinda boring. It is very slow paced.
But it's also gorgeous.
|
Mushishi is lovely. It's just a chilled ride through a chilled guys life that sometimes makes you cry.
|
Mushishi isn't like a saturday morning cartoon anime, it's an I want to sit down and relax late at night with a drink and watch something that will expand my horizons anime.
|
A nice bottle of whiskey is mandatory.

Real talk, I expected to like Mushishi a lot since it sounds like the exact sort of anime I like, but like 5 episodes in I realized that I just don't give a shit about any of the stories. It's just really bad bastardization of Asian legends into something super shallow and ponderous. There's no substance there, merely the illusion of it. Which I wouldn't mind but it pretends to be something it's not. Kino's Journey was far superior, and it has a moe motorcycle.

prejudice against drugs and sex robots

we say open minded like almost half the global population of women arn't legally treated like second hand citizens.
|
Hopefully, prejudice against marijuana. This country spends way too much time and money fighting it.

Well, the question was what would our generation be mocked for. I'm fairly certain the vast majority of Gen Y is very open to most things. The next couple decades will show how true or untrue that actually is as we rise into power. Instantaneous information has been great for exposing how bullshit everything is, but will we actually end up doing anything to change it? *shrug*

I'm not sure how to interpret Cheep's lomo anymore. @_@
Kaiji is super good, if only for the atmosphere. It's a case of anime adaptation of a manga that really makes use of the differences between the media (the narrator who's totally into it, the "zawa zawa~" chorus to bring tension, etc. and Kaiji's VA is very good).
Seirei no Moribito is cool and beautiful and it has a good soundtrack and its story is non-cliche for once. Also adapted from a novel.

There are a lot of people our gen that scoff at drugs as being lame but drink themselves stupid.

I mean if we are talking the western world I'd say that's really fucking inaccurate black people and hispanic people in america have it way worse
you're acting like women don't get advantages in certain situations as well its just if you're a woman trying to be in the "traditional male role" of working in "traditional male positions" i mean obviously its super bad anyway but its far from being a second class citizen
In terms of jobs as nurses secretaries teachers etcetc you probably get treated worse as a man there because lol pedophile
I also hate the view that stay at home mom is a slave but working man isn't. Who the fuck wants to go to work? having kids can suck as well but a lot of people want kids

There is a fair to good chance that if I had the option to be a stay at home dad and never worry about money, I might take it. Working fucking sucks.
