Actually if you read Ben Kuchera's piece on this very subject of ad revenue vs crowdfunding (btw fuck ben kuchera), you realize that crowdfunding models don't need much to be successful. I honestly think that once someone in "esports" tries Patreon, it will immediately blowup. I mean, just considering how huge the League community is and how many people enjoy those interviews and talk shows... Just look at how many people are donating and subbing to streamers, even a fraction of that for someone like Thorin would be enough to pay the bills.
Anyway I don't think that Thorin in particular neccessarily needs to start a Patreon, altough I think he's exactly the kind of person that will create content that not everyone will enjoy, but those who do might be willing to financially support him. I just think that if he ever has trouble with ad revenue, or if someone like Travis doesn't know how to earn money if CBS lays him off, I think Patreon might be the answer.
Anyway I just really like patreon model and I would love the world where crowdfunding trumps ad revenue.

2 of the "pretenders" are not entirely original and 2 of them are photos, but every dinosaur was drawn by these hands. I'm pretty sure this is the first game mod I've ever completed, ever.
edit: oh wait there one I did a long time ago when I was 9. Still.
aha! It's finally been released.
I'll test out to see what some of the changes have been.
As I grow older suddenly I don't feel like playing games anymore. Used to play a lot, now just 1-2 LoL games per week and maybe a few PES matches outside of watching competitive League.

oh and Nightcrawler got robbed. Jake Gyllenhall deserved best actor, and Nightcrawler absolutely deserved a nomination as well (although so did The Babadook, academy bias too strong though orz)
That reminds me, I meant to post this earlier but never got around to it. I think I didn't post it because I was afraid that Soniv was going to call me a filthy casual for posting Smash 4 footage.
I'm not remotely surprised Gahlo's post is getting attention. It's seriously a ridiculously good analysis of what's gone wrong with Riot's latest jungle rework.
Some of the changes they've made (e.g. the basic ones to prevent the lanesmite/doublesmite nonsense that was possible shortly after they introduce Smite charges) are fine, but the jungle is definitely at its most restrictive in a long while, when it should have been at its most diverse.
