The true spammers of TLLOLOTGDTS Pretty sure I'm like maybe 6th most posts on OT GD? I know for sure Req, Soniv, Gahlo, Alaric, and a couple others dwarf my post count in this thread. Of those only Req and Soniv have significantly more posts than you, and only because they quit playing League ages ago and don't post anywhere else. Yeah, I'm still stuck in the cancer still known as LoL

Welp I guess I'm silver...

Those tweets are honestly just cancer. Twitter is funny because it gives a globally viewed spot where morons with egos who have stayed away from saying stupid things to slip up and let the world see.

It goes back to this: http://www.liquiddota.com/forum/dota-2-general/453881-tl-to-cover-dota-2
The controversy is basically this excerpt from the "Why not League of Legends?" section:
At this moment, taking into account our existing core audience (StarCraft fans), we believe that Dota 2 should be the game we add to our coverage. It "fits" TL's style, and it's very popular among our staff, who play and watch the game as well as visit sites like r/dota2.
Some people read into this and saw TL thumbing its nose at LoL because it wasn't as hardcore a game as Broodware/SC2/DotA 2, mostly because of the "core audience" and "style" reasons for adopting DotA 2.
It was pretty disappointing for the TL LoL subforum but it shouldn't have been as controversial as it was.

guys I was looking at a globe earlier and I realized all the shitty countries of the world are below or just above the Tropic of Cancer. Coincidence? I think not.

It's like gamergate. I don't understand how gamergate was a thing, but somehow it became one, yet I've lost absolutely nothing by deciding to ignore it and can happily go on with my gaming life pretending that it never happened.
I'm not sure anything could possibly turn me into a curmudgeon faster than vine and twitter. They're mediums that I'll never understand.
well, never is a strong word, but you get what I mean.

that seams like a pretty mild and diplomatic way of justifying it.

I don't think sc2 was considered some hyper elite game, rather the opposite- especially in comparison to bw. SC2 players like to pretend it was hardcore.

This thread is about to go places.
We're almost full on BW right now, just firing shots at everything.
See, we are elitist =p

Put in the place of having to choose between one or the other, it made sense and it just died down with people hoping TL would come around as League kept getting bigger and bigger. With Hearthstone there was some grumbling. Yeah, it isn't MTG level, but even so it was an entirely different genre. It was Heroes of the Storm when it started bothering people again.
Way I see it, if they apologized to us before the merger happened, cool. I can respect that. As it stands currently with our own site(I like the site and not being a sidebar footnote) and our own team, I have everything I wanted out of TL and League. I don't need an apology.
People that aren't part of the community need to shut up about an "apology" unless they were a writer here back in the day when everything got buried.

I miss BW, wombo combo, and AGDQ. Need more jaw-dropping plays plz.

As someone who watches some of a lot of different games, I'm glad TL has diversified so much. Hopefully the LoL squad is good and they give me a reason to invest my time into watching LCS. It would have been nice to have this happen a while ago but this merger was an excellent opportunity to pick up a team on the rise in NA that was already in LCS which makes a lot of sense for Liquid as an organization.
All of the "TL should be admonished" sentiment is based on things that happened a long time ago and are ignorant of the special circumstances of this merger. Make it clear, if it weren't for the merger, TL would probably never have gotten into LoL. And that's okay, they didn't have to. But now they are, and we have the new portal, and we have a reason to be proud of the Liquid name in LoL. Monte and Thorin are right in the sense that it isn't okay to look down upon other games in esports unreasonably, but they are wrong in trying to say that Liquid now looks "bad" for getting into LoL.

It's perfectly reasonable to look down on other games in esports and it's well within people's rights to have their own opinion. None of this deserves any kind of apology and monte and thorin are essentially trying to create drama because people had their own opinions years ago which have nothing to do with any of teamliquid's business aspects.
