lol, yeah, it's a process
Obviously, as players, we all knew we had to go down the hole. But as characters? We walked into this ghost town, it's raining heavily, the guy we escorted and his horses have disappeared, and we find this hole with a pulsating, blue light. You're damn fucking right I'm gonna be cautious approaching that hole.

Yo dawg, I'm here to make it more difficult for you to get hit than deal with your sadism.
I WAS INSPIRING EVERYONE AND NO ONE USED IT T_T
You inspired me to lower you down the hole, when I weigh probably like twice what you do and could easily lift you over my head. Have a little faith, brohame.

With the way Asmo's dice were rolling against me, and the fact that our cleric didn't take any healing spells, I'm pretty pleased with making it through the session alive.
a cleric not taking any healing spells is probably very accurate for a low ranking cleric. its only through meta-gamey knowledge and combat experience (later on) that a cleric would be taking healing spells, and unless you are a warpriest or priest of a protector/mercy god of some sort you wouldnt have that knowledge and training from the clergy right off the bat.
Clerics have access to their whole spell list and just need to prepare a subset each day. The fact that we were doing a one shot means we were going to be fighting, and so preparing Cure Wounds would have been reasonable. Now, quite potentially he was roleplaying his character and didn't take it because he wouldn't necessarily expect to fight, which is totally legit. I'm just poking fun at Magnus cuz it was hilarious when we realized we had no more healing.
In-combat healing spells are usually not as effective as stuff that kills things faster.
Out of combat, if Asmo hasn't nerfed short rests/healing surges/whatever the fuck they're called in 5E, then those are more than adequate. You're the one who told me about how OP those are, lol.

yeah i know how clerics work! but yeah its totally reasonable for an inexperienced adventuring cleric to not pray for healing spells. my bard spells are as non meta gamey as i could do. pretty much just loaded up on the spells that fit his background and personality the best. i'd expect his spellbook to change dramatically over the course of an adventure as his experience leads him to get more..practical? spells for a campaign.
A metagamey cleric probably would avoid healing spells too, lol.
Though it's interesting that 5E clerics can't spontaneously convert healing spells anymore. Guess they thought the mechanic was unnecessary with the addition of short rests/healing surges.
Yeah, idk how Asmo has handled houseruling the rest healing - I know there are a couple variations in the DMG, although I think he's just using stock rules for now.
I do know that clerics who take the Oath of Vitality (or whatever) always have heals available. Again, it was just me making an assumption, I've never actually played a cleric.
Anybody who's around, I think I'm going to torture myself for a while and do more Lost runs. Advice and/or keeping me sane is more than welcome. www.twitch.tv/waveofshadow
Looking for some tech help if anyone has time/advice... Transported my pc to my parents and back this week without apparent issue. Set up at home and my pc freezes which is unusual but w/e. I had just Chrome and HS open. I had to power it off and on. I get the Error Recovery Window on start up. I choose the repair option and it just goes back to that screen a few times. I choose normal and it starts to boot Windows and then restarts. I choose normal start up and it's back up and running. Since then I've had it crash and restart a few times. 3 times I've gotten a blue screen, only one time was I able to get a blurry picture on my phone before it restarted. Now my computer starts up really slow and will run as normal for an hour or so but it's crashed a number of times in like 12 hours. I'm looking for: what do I start with or check out? My dad suggested checking connections since something might have loosened in transit. Of possible relevance: My brother just had an issue with his comp over the holiday where it wouldn't boot Windows and just froze. It seems kinda similar but his never got running again as far as I know. I cleaned my pc out as it was getting dusty and I was cleaning my desk yesterday anyways.
