I don't know anything about the computer stuff, but I think I could provide some help with regards to mouse/keyboard/headset
firstly, I think all gaming keyboards are ridiculously overpriced. Go to a shop where they have keyboards displayed and try pressing the keys to see which feel the best. Last time I was at a shop the keyboard that fit me the best was some cheap logitech shit for 10 bucks (preferred it over the roccat keyboards they had on display). As for a mouse, the things that matter are: 1. it has at least the amount of DPI you use 2. it feels good in your hand 3. it has enough buttons and 4. (optional) it has a cloth cable instead of rubber. Im not sure the mouse you chose fits the description, make sure you try it out at a shop somewhere. Headset, idk about sound quality and all that shit, but especially if you wear glasses when playing, for the love of god try it out at a shop. Even if it feels slightly uncomfortable, it will make you literally bleed behind your ears. I think you shouldn't feel it pushing into your glasses at all at first, at the very least.

... what mouse doesn't have three buttons these days?
|
Three is old-school. Four buttons is my preferred and the mouse i use right now has 5.

all you need is the two mouse buttons and a wheel. not sure what you guys need any more buttons for. keyboard is faster for anything you need to press and aim.

giant robot simulator weapon groupings, auto running in mmo's(mouse 4 good button for dis), quick swapping in fps of choice just off the top of my head..
The amount of buttons you want is the amount of buttons your mouse should have. So say I, lord of buttons.

I keep fucking up winning combination lost runs First I blew a Holy Mantle/spectral tears ++++ run in Sheol Just now blew a Gnawed Leaf/Gemini run This is actually one of the most frustrating and stressful gaming-related things I've ever done. And I'm a shitter who crawled to Gold in LoL for two seasons.

It's ok Wave, tomorrow is the last day I'm holding out on SG dropping lower then it is on sale *cuz if I wait until the end of the month, I can't get it period*, so you'll have someone other then Soniv to wallop the poop out of.
*oh, I also got a 3DS and Sapphire for Xmas, can my friend code be added to the OP? + Show Spoiler +

I thought that if Soniv the Great and Family Man Wave fought each other in a fighting game that it would be absolute Hulk smashery and Soniv would crush Wave.
You mean to tell me that it's the other way around?

Well admittedly, I haven't watched them for a while, cuz I've missed Wave streaming a few times, but as of like 2-3 weeks ago, it was pretty one sided!
+ Show Spoiler +I'm sure I'll be corrected for being wrong tho lol

You mean to tell me that it's the other way around? waves been playing SG more than soniv. its only natural the guy with more experience is playing better. soniv's experience comes from smash iirc, which only in study and theory have applicable skills, soniv may know what he should be doing, but he lacks the experience to execute it.

Have you ever seen demonstrations of huge tanks implode on themselves because the pressure is just changed slightly? Your revelations are nothing to the people of engineering my good popcornshaking friend. but it might be a good carnaval trick, for a kid's birthday party, or to entertain your friends. I'd say, go for it and you may be able to get a buck ot two out of it!

Like I said, a neat partytrick :p
Also, fusion reactors already exist, the cold part in "cold fusion" is just silly because the fusion produces WAY more energy than needed to start the reaction.

Okay, let's start at what is probably the most important question, are you located near a Microcenter? http://www.microcenter.com/site/stores/default.aspxScroll down for location list. I am not First thing I checked. And thanks Capped/Wave - I am definitely new to this and most likely overspent just because I could. I would definitely not mind cutting costs though hahaha. I will take your advice in to consideration. Okay, so, keeping with your budget I did some tinkering. I immediately set aside the allowances for your peripherals because personal preference yada yada. I came up with this: http://pcpartpicker.com/p/fVkqVnCPU: You don't need 8 cores for gaming. 4 is plenty with current standards. I sat you with the most powerful i5 available, which is the most practical for gaming. Mobo: Changed to work with Intel CPUs. RAM: Like the CPU, you don't need 16GB, 8GB should be more than enough. GPU: You said you didn't want to multi card it and with your budget, a 760 is honestly a joke. 980 is currently the best single card option you can go with. SSD: Changed to Crucial to save a bit of money. HDD: This is going to be for documents, movies/shows, and just about anything that isn't your OS or games. You don't need a high speed drive for this. I also knocked down the size a bit, but in the end you know what will work best for you so don't feel bad about going over my head on this one and getting a larger version of this drive. Optical: Went with what you had because it's preference. I personally don't see the benefit of a Blu-Ray drive, but I have a PS3 so I already have one. PSU: You massively overshot on this, but most people do. You're factory settings max should be around 360W on this build, so this unit will give you 140W(ish) to play with when you get into overclocking. Case: I was going to go with the one you had, but it wouldn't have been able to take advantage of the USB3.0 ports on your mobo and they weren't sure if it was compatible with the cooler. Cooler: Since you don't have an oversized CPU, why have an oversized cooler? Post promo codes and rebates it's only ~$10 over budget.
The only thing i would say was wrong with this is the super-charged GFX. The most recent cards are always alot more expensive than the advantages they bring, you're paying double for a slight performance gain and in a year or two that same card will cost ~$250 anyway.
Theres a sweet-spot in the graphics card market that gives you a great card that will run everything for a couple years without being overpriced for what it offers, which is usually around the ~$300-400 mark. Anything more and you're paying a premium for "less" because of the minor advantages newer expensive cards have over their cheaper alternatives.
Of course the card is still going to be a fucking beast, no doubt about that.
Gahlo hooked you up well Galt, heed his advice :D

I just recently bought an open box GTX970 that usually goes for around $400 for $300. I only threw the 980 on there because I was trying to fill the budget, so to speak.
