Sucks if they have neither though :<

Sucks if they have neither though :< most often you'll see 2-3 treadmills, a stationary bike and a stair climbing machine, and then sometimes free weights, sometimes a shoulder press machine. it seems crappy, but more people go for walks/jog/run than lift weights. and people REALLY don't like going running or jogging in a city they are unfamiliar with.

It's a little weird that there's SO many different types of cardio machines at the gym and such a small area for weights. I'm never there when it's peak times so I guess it's just for max demand? Just seems odd that people are so into all these random cardio machines. I think my gym has 60% cardio. 20% weight machines and cables then rest free weight will pool underneath.

Added muscle requires more energy to maintain plus you look better when you do lose weight rather than just skinny. Best way to lose weight is to eat less and healthier.

I dont know if i should answer this im sure the people that know better will chime in but tldr: no it isnt, but yes they usually do. A good weight training set will burn way more callories than cardio due to increased metabolism for longer for muscle regrowth. weight loss isnt as important as fat loss but weight loss is calories in < calories out.

I'm not sure what he thinks of it, I think he was intimidated by the 78 pages of mechanics in the manual. I feel like it *should* be up his alley though, he likes turn based strategy and he's even played dwarf fortress. Hear that Seuss? If you've played dwarf fortress you really don't have an excuse.
