Though I do really enjoy chess and would probably like Go aswell. Never been a big fan of turn based video games. The reason probably lies in my experience with my all time favourite RPG Star Ocean for the playstation. Real time fighting. While Final Fantasy was turn based, I got all the action all the time. It's also probably one of the foundations of my impatience haha. | ||

The appeal for me isn't playing so much as it'd be deck building (either theorycraft, or makeshift with whatever you have). Well I suck at min-maxing so I'd do better in a limited format where there are less good interactions for me to miss, hence why seeing people open 40 packs at a time or crafting epics/legendaries at launch kills my hype "Oh hey it's the first hour, people will already have copy/pasted "broken" decks to use instead of everyone getting some stuff and trying to make do with it". Which is the part I find most enjoyable (hence why I like arena... in principle, because draft RNG is petty fucken real with their awful format). After that, playing is more about feeling satisfied when you deck clicks well, works and you get to do cool stuff or win with it. Also why I take topdeck, absurd draws and other kinds of luck so badly (I don't derive much pleasure from winning through a topdeck either, for everyone about to point at my constant topdeck QQ). Playing the card game in itself is bleh, unless it's with friends. Making the decks to play the card game is more interesting. | ||
