You can argue whether that was right or wrong, but it was the chief reason behind the decision. it certainly was not just terror. Truman argued that it saved japanese lives in the long run as dropping the bombs would kill a hundred thousand japanese, but a full scale invasion and all the bombings it would entail would result in far more. Scientists were not adequately informed about the degree of problems caused by radiation at the time and truman was not informed of this at the time of his decision. Hell the US scientists tested the bombs by lining soldiers up to watch and giving them sunglasses as their only protection. certainly we can look back with 70 years of knowledge and say the decision was likely excessive, but it wasn't unreasonable for the time and limited knowledge of the weapons we had when we used them. Truman thought he was dropping the equivalent of an extremely powerful conventional payload. rather than a poisonous bomb we know them to be now.

The secret is not Mirror Entity, Counter-Spell, Vaporize or Ice Barrier. Hunter has exact lethal, but can also clear and leave himself with a very good board. Do you go face? edit: no targeted spells involved in the lethal, so Spellbender is not a factor

pretty much you are in a situation where: if its ice block you lose. if mage has pyro in hand or on top of the deck you lose. you'd also lose if mage has frost bolt and fireball or two fireballs ect.

Except some generals where against it because it would not change the outcome and some say that the fact that the Soviet entered the war ended it. Its not like the US haven't done similar acts (not nuclear) at later that to strengthen their world position. On December 04 2014 12:16 Alzadar wrote: Arena, Hunter vs Mage. In addition to what was stated before, the human prospect of a full invasion of Japan was extremely grim for both sides, and was why when Truman was presented with an option to try and avoid it, he took it. At the time, the assessment of an invasion of Japan based on the level of fanatical resistance that was shown at Okinawa (the closest scenario and case study to which to base an invasion of Kyushu) was that it would rack up Allied dead in the hundreds of thousands (estimates range from 300,000 to over a million dead [these may be conservative], with total casualties in the millions), and millions (up to ten million or above, really) of Japanese dead (and far, far more casualties), in addition to nearly destroying the the entirety of the island infrastructure. If such an invasion was attempted, it could very well have met these estimates. The US manufactured 500,000 Purple Hearts in preparation for the invasion for a reason (we still haven't used them all; they're still far into surplus even after Iraq/Afghanistan). In any event, the strategic firebombings of Tokyo and other Japanese cities were far, far more lethal than either bombs. As for war crimes: there's a reason why there remains an underlying anti-Japanese sentiment throughout all of East and Southeast Asia. Unit 731 is abominable by itself, to mention nothing of comfort women. Except some generals where against it because it would not change the outcome and some say that the fact that the Soviet entered the war ended it. Its not like the US haven't done similar acts (not nuclear) at later that to strengthen their world position. The outcome wouldn't change (it was known since Midway, and in reality far before that: the USN simply had a staggering amount of carriers in production at the outbreak, far in advance of whatever the Japanese can produce), but the US and Commonwealth would still most likely have needed to conduct a full-scale invasion of Japan, and the casualty estimates of which were staggeringly high on both sides. You greatly underestimate how deeply Japanese hyper-militarism controlled the government at the time. In any event, the Soviet invasion did not come until Nagasaki (happened slightly earlier on the same day), and by examining the cabinet records, it appears to me that Japan would not have left the war with only a Soviet invasion; it was the twin shock of the Soviet attack on Manchuria combined with Nagasaki that would finally drive the cabinet to comply with surrender; it should also be noted that even with both Nagasaki and the Soviet invasion, the Imperial government still faced the likelihood of a military coup to continue the persecution of the war up until the Emperor was able to get on the air. I'll just point you to this alt-TL for just how dark it could get. http://www.alternatehistory.com/discussion/showthread.php?t=296250 Almost as dark as the Anglo-American/Nazi War TL http://www.alternatehistory.com/discussion/showthread.php?t=211950

He just played a Murloc Tidehunter when he has Spectral Knight and Azure Drake on the board. I'd still go for the kill. if you lose because its ice block, then whatever, he'd have 2-3 more chances at a killing card either way. he has 3 chances at an auto win pyroblast, (2 in hand and 1 on deck), and if he has frost bolt + ice lance or fireball or 2 fireballs, ect he also can auto win. its probably a duplicate or ice block. When you are at 10 health you lose to mage almost always unless you can kill them immediately, so might as well try to.
