Just don't be like my roommate and cook a month's worth of spaghetti and then fall into a coma so that it has to be thrown out.

Wow that tone was not really fitting for what you just wrote.

Tabernacle and crisse are used... to basically make fun of the very "coloured" Quebec vocabulary. Apart from that I don't think we use many of them, let alone in a serious context.
+ Show Spoiler +
There are words from Quebec that are used now, some Frenchified*, for example we generally use email or mail, Quebec people invented courriel: hardware is matériel, eg. matter + -iel suffix for adjectives, so software is logiciel for logic + -iel, logiciel is now associated with computer things in general so courriel was made to sound like logiciel while combining courrier (mail) and électronique (el... wait), making courriel a pretty literal (both in meaning and form) equivalent to email, while reminding people of being a computer-oriented word.
It exemplifies how Quebec people go at translating things fairly well, and while it's actually closer and more faithful to what you'd expect the French language to be, it's also pretty far from always sounding good and there are a number of awkward translations. That's also why Quebec and other-French-speaking-countries have different names for most imported movies, as we just keep the English names (or make equivalents) while they always translate them in a straight-forward, literal way.

* really? I guess it makes sense but it sounds weird to the ear.

TL;DR we actually catch up for all the past centuries by being the ones to borrow words from the English language, while Quebec remains faithful to French in a sometimes too literal manner that make them sound ridiculous (but you can argue that on principle they're in the right).

French casting of LoL as an exemple is pretty jarring because a good half of the words won't be translated and with the commentators' lack of accent it usually sounds like people throwing buzzwords around without necessarily having a good idea of what they say.
(It's not worse than Rivington because they still make sentences, it's harder to tune out because of the contrast and his voice though.)
Last week-end we had some people casting the in-houses, and while hanging out in the mumble channel the most natural was actually a guy from Quebec because although his accent was present at all times he'd weave English words in effortlessly.

Edit: I guess the answer to your question would be asking "Do Americans often say "by Jove!"?"

Because he kept it in his room on the floor, I have no interest in eating a huge room temperature tub of spaghetti with tomato sauce belonging to a comatose man.

Hell, for all I know it was the spaghetti that caused it.

While I know the situation here is quite serious, this mental image is hilarious for me.

Are courriel, stationnement (vs parking), etc Quebecois creations? I know l'Academie francaise promotes their use, so I figured they were France words.

As a side note, l'Academie francaise has to have the most pompous titles in the world. Their inner council is literally called the Forty Immortals.

An old high school teacher of mine uses the very "loller" on Facebook, it has a pleasant feel to it. "Nous lollerons" feels really nice in your mouth.

I very much disagree with much of this post. Maybe it's just easier food prepping as a vegetarian I dunno.

Easiest things to do and store for a long time:

Soups (especially good because they are mostly passive, easy to cook with something else), Reheating(optional): microwave.

Meat pies (chicken pot pie and shepherds pie included), just take them out halfway through baking wrap them up and freeze them. Reheating: throw them in the oven for 20 minutes when you get home from work and by the time you change and shower and get the table set, your food is done.

Weekly: rice dishes, black beans and rice whether dirty(chicken broth) or normal with a cooked side (tofu, meat ect). store in fridge in tupperware for up to 7 days. Reheat: microwave.

Breakfasts: no one has trouble making breakfasts right?, but you can bake some muffins or scones to eat on the go, there are even bacon and egg breakfast muffins you can make where all you need is a cup of coffee and you can microwave the muffin for 15 seconds with a wet paper towel and take your breakfast to work with you.

Casseroles are great for storage as well.

I can cook on my sub par stove/oven, a gallon+ of soup, 4 meat pies, and 2 rice dishes and a batch of a dozen scones and 6 jumbo sized muffins in 4.5 hours.

EDIT: if anyone wants recipes or instructions on these things i got you. Cooking and baking i've spent so much of my time doing.

But see now you're starting to make the point of why cooking high quality meals vs building a high quality PC is just not a good analogy. I can build a really good machine in very little time, or at least I don't save much time if I buy pre-built. High quality food just doesn't really work that way. I'm not saying go buy tons of 'pre-built' fast food or whatnot, I'm just saying the analogy falls apart for me. It's useless.
How did the experience of working at Mr Burns' Nuclear Plant influence Homer's composition of the Iliad and Odyssey?

Yeah alz I was pretty certain nobody wants to have anything to do with the Quebecois, never mind the French. I can't profess to understand or speak well enough to know for certain but from a conversational point of view Quebecois French is pretty different from 'Parisian.' (which, funny enough, is the version we learn in school)

Price looks about right for a pre-built, and the load-out is pretty decent (slightly better than my own machine, but it's 1.5 years old).

Only catch is no SSD. Honestly not putting a SSD on a gaming PC seems like a cruel joke. But you can add one yourself I guess? Runs like $70-150 extra depending on how big you go. But definitely get one.

I'm disappointed I got no reactions to my Deathwing Murloc Druid story where I lost to obscure game mechanics.

Iirc attacking with your hero doesn't trigger freezing trap either so it's hard to check for that one (unsure about explosive trap). Obviously doesn't trigger vaporise.

Attacking with your hero DOES trigger Noble Sacrifice, that wasn't the problem.

Yeah FWIW obviously recommend building your own.

Building your PC is the Hajj of gamers. You just really should do it at least once in your life (and having done it once, you'll want to do it again). Or like a Jedi building his lightsaber, you think Luke ordered in some pre-built thing from jawa.com?

Are you a muslim by any chance? Lol.

What an odd question.

You said Hajj.
