Long story short: I'm stepping up to DM a campaign for OT folks. Ruleset is 5E, world is one of my own creation, influenced by many other things. It's called Iris and I've been writing about it in blogs (sorry guys, no part 4 today, my bad). Unfortunately, there's a LOT of people who want to play D&D here, and I can really only take 5 at max. When I figure out who's in it (based on some as-of-yet-unknown selection method that may or may not be heavily biased... hopefully not), then we'll stream it regularly and maybe podcast/YT it, depending on how ambitious I am.

The WW2 effect is strong, it's the same in Canada where WLMK is considered one of the best PMs even though he was mad as a hatter and arguably hampered our war effort. He only liked talking to ghosts, what's so mad about that? And it could be said maybe conscription shoulda been in sooner, but it practically tore the country apart in WW1. His only real fault was he caved to the generals in attempting to make an army, as opposed to just the Corps level unit we had in WW1. *well fault in the war, lots of faults outside of it*

His only real fault was he caved to the generals in attempting to make an army, as opposed to just the Corps level unit we had in WW1. *well fault in the war, lots of faults outside of it* "shoulda been in sooner" is pretty generous, conscription was implemented so late that it basically had no effect, virtually no conscripted soldiers saw action in Europe. Meanwhile the Canadian First Army had to capture "the strongest fortifications the Nazis ever constructed" while fighting short-handed and cannibalizing its own divisions just to have enough manpower. Don't get me started on the stupid "Conscription if necessary but not necessarily conscription", it's such a weasel politician answer but somehow it's a famous quote as if he said something insightful. My impression of WLMK is he was too focused on trying to please everyone at once instead of doing what needed to be done. You can't half-ass a total war (except for Rome 2 LOL).
