I'm looking at a Nexus 5 at the moment.
Basically the major thing I need from a smartphone is I need it to work anywhere in the world, since I travel a lot. So I'm going to be buying it unlocked instead of going with some carrier plan and only want to pay like 400$ or less.
Nexus 5 or a Oneplusone are the two I like the most, but the Oneplusone is invite only, sadface. Nexus 5 has won some awards as the #1 phone for backpackers because it works on so many bands that it's pretty much good in any country in the world.
Do you guys think it's worth it to buy a phone used? There are sellers on Amazon who have "Like New" Nexus 5 32GB models for like, 325-350$, but I'm scurred.

See if you can get one refurbished from a reputable source. Outside of Sony shitting the box with a PS3, I've literally never had an issue.
