I've been 'on my own' since college, but I went to school ~45 mins away, then moved back really close(~10mins), and while I'll still be in the same state, it's close to a 5 hour drive, so no longer a distance I can cover literally anytime I feel I want to visit.
I'm not 'worried,' but despite my age it's still something that's going to hit the feels. Where are you moving to if you don't mind me asking? Moving to just outside Cincy, basically on the Kentucky border. I turn 29 in a few months, definitely in the 'old' category in this thread. That's closer to Athens! You can come visit and teach me how to play Dota in person haha. Assuming you go to OU, I know about eleventy billion people that go/went there, including one of my new roommates. Been there for Halloween twice, fun times. As for this birthday discussion, most of the people I consider friends tend to do dinners and a low key night of drinking at a house, which feels about right. It's not like they're craving the attention, it's pretty much just an occasion to get some family and close friends together. Could probably just agree upon random dates that bridge holidays to do the same, but birthdays are a 'thing' so it just happens that way I guess. Yep, this is my last semester though. Got one more Halloween party as a student. Should probably figure out a costume...

Not as elaborated, but my first reading of OU was the same. Haven't played beyong gen 2. What has this thread done to me. ;_;

So... i just played a game with Arteezy's smurf. in dota 2. lol Spent the whole match trolling him and he still carried.

I find birthdays to be a pretty good excuse to get together with everyone. I don't know about everyone else, but randomly getting a large group of people to hang out is pretty hard since everyone has their own schedule. For a birthday, people make sure to take time off and make the effort to show up. Also, I always thought the average age for TL was something like mid 30s, mostly because of the slightly jaded outlook.

Knowing the general skill of of TL is between 2.5k and 3.5k, I'm not surprised. It's hard to lose when you can just basically solo a duo or trilane, or just snowball out of control by going Godlike on your lane opponent. What was he playing? Care to link the dotabuff? I'm interested in what sort of builds/heroes are generally being played in pubs in 6.82.
I still want to play dota though, and probably finish The Name of the Wind, but holy fuck can this author drag on and on about Kovoth's lovelife...and it's not even fucking interesting! Just a horny fucking 15 year old who's too scared to take a hint....
I hope the second book is better, because holy shit is the first one a drag aside from when he's actually, you know, advancing the plot. I almost feel like I'm reading a Western high fantasy novel written by Tite Kubo....

I played riki and decided to test what i could do with invis lvl 1. i leeched jungle xp from their prophet and took every bounty rune. all the time taunting arteezy lol can't do the dotabuff because i have that turned off in dota so no data from my games is collected. i don't want to support dotabuff in any way.

In HS news, I got 3 legendaries in my last 5 packs, the last of which was a Golden Beast. I know I should probably disenchant him for something better but I don't think I'm missing any of the good legendaries at this point....
Actually wait that's not true, I don't have a bunch of the class legendaries.
