Also, not sure if it is me being better at this game, but FE SS was a LOT easier than FE7 for me. I didn't get anyone to level 20, but it was enough for me to kill the last boss with only Eirika, Ephraim, and Gelik.

I like Ephraim route more as far as maps are concerned though (that ship of the dead, damn)

I think general consensus is that FE SS is the one of the easiest games in the series. (if not the easiest)
Of course that doesn't stop me from loving the game.

Yeah that ship of the dead level gave me nightmares. I think it was one of the toughest levels in the game, at least for me.

Yep, pretty sure the ship of the dead is by far the hardest map in all of FE8
fog of war+flying units that are pretty strong for that time and 3 tile chokepoint that keeps getting pressured by massive amount of chaff

Yeah, FE:SS is generally considered really easy, even if you don't level on tower/ruins/map encounters
the first time I killed the final boss I did it with a heavy cavalry dude, he can't get 1shot and has more move than the boss so you can just kite him around and kill him easy lol

So if I'm getting this right. Major thought he wasn't able to get enough of a travel stipend, so he forfeited his ro16 slot cuz he didn't think it was worth the cost? Sounds reasonable to me, dunno why TB started shit with Major.
