I'm stricken enough by a description making clear that a female character isn't some sex symbol (compared to just not saying anything), especially when it's not the "she's fat and ugly and she's got a good heart and is part of the support cast" archetype, that it sticks to me. May not have read that wll but I'd be surprised.
It's like Honor Harrington. Early on in the first books he points out she's like 6'5 tall, muscular, very square face and frame because, well, she's in the military (and it's in her genes even if her mother, who happens to be emphatic and always right and beautiful and... is like 5' tall), he doesn't use that word but says she has somewhat brutish traits and she's pretty clumsy (as in no grace rather than no precision, since she's something like top 50 in a pan-galactic lethal martial art too, yadda-yadda), and suddenly a bit later everyone finds her graceful, beautiful in her own way, attractive even in her military uniform and even more without it, etc.

If that book didn't talk about the situations from both points of views (although he stills ends up with good guys from both sides and a third side of bad guys 'cause fuck non-manicheism) and good supporting characters, I'd have dropped it so long ago. At least stick to your description of your own damn characters.

Lol sometimes I'll never understand why FGC/Smash ppl beef all the time up here over trivial stuff like "Smash isn't a real FG", or "Street Fighter/Marvel/Tekken/any anime game/KOF are children's games" (Tristate area).
I don't bother to stand around and listen in since I don't really give a crap about Smash, but when dude's are literally fighting over console stations where pools are and shit, like wth.
