You pay a premium for the quality though, and it can be hard to fit in your budget if you're really looking for a high-performance machine. If not, Thinkpad's about as reliable as you're going to get out of a laptop. Rest of Lenovo stuff can be hit or miss. I've heard of people running into tons of issues in their first few months, and also some that had them last for years without a hitch.

The pb with recent Asus is that Windows 8 is bad as fuck and not optimized for high DPI screens. And Windows in general is just a poor OS. On my Macbook I can play LoL and use all my Windows programs with Parallels with way higher battery lifetime and faster boot times, not to mention a better built hardware... I wouldn't advise for buying a Windows laptop atm given the state of the Windows OS.

But yeah I can see where you're coming from. I'll agree that the Windows operating system isn't the best but I do prefer it over the Mac operating system. Just in my past experiences though Windows computers have lasted longer for me than Mac ones, and Mac seems overpriced to me considering what it offers. This is just my experience though and I'm inclined to believe that I'm the exception in this case.

Yeah, I'm wasn't expecting a desktop-replacement level laptop anyway. I'm just fine with any laptop that can play a game like League of Legends at 60Fps without constantly dropping or blue screening. I also got it refurbished by the manufacturer which saved me a lot of money.

The 900$ models look real similar to the one I'm using now but with a better GPU, I like it. Mine came in the mail like 2 weeks late and I called and yelled at them and they ended up refunding me 100$ btw, heads up if you get bad service.

I want to thank the game developers who actually named their last level "the last level". The game is much easier when I can send (some of) my units as cannon fodders. Here's my RIP list: http://imgur.com/a/k0eV6 (This list misses Lucius who also RIP'ed, but I forgot to upload him). My MVP: + Show Spoiler + ![]() The baddest badass ever.

I was looking at this guy before asking on the thread, I'm alright with hitting a little over $1000. Look good? You're paying a premium for the components but sometimes its not wise to just seek out pure ~value~. I bought a 1k ASUS as my 2nd laptop after original SAGER build exploded (I fell asleep in college on it and it landed on the floor with the exhaust fan blocked and then half of it melted). It was around the same premium value for components as the one you have linked. If I had to do everything again, I would either get a desktop plus some super cheapass tabletronic thing and sync portable documents on the cloud and use the desktop for gaming (so you can get 2 devices for $1k!) or I would get a refurb MSI or ASUS ROG laptop, which usually pop up at ~700 for super value
