Since you're Canadian, I suppose I will have to fill you in. The Cheesesteak is a simple food that hails from Philadelphia, hence why it is often referred to as a "Philadelphia Cheesesteak" to give it an air of authenticity. Think of it kind of like the Champagne of sandwiched.
It is comprised, primarily, of a Sub roll(locally referred to as a Hoagie roll), steak, and cheese. If you get a "Philadelphia Cheesesteak" anywhere BUT Philadelphia or it's surrounding area, it is most likely a fraud. The only exception is if the person that made it lived in the previously explained area in their formative years.
Even then, there are still people that fuck it up. When you order a Cheesesteak in Philly, you order it by cheese followed by wit'(with) or wit'out(without) onions, e.g. "Whiz wit'" would be a Cheesesteak with cheese whiz and onions. The roll is very important, but sometimes that can't be helped. What can is the cheese. Common choices are American, Whiz, and Provolone. American is the wrong one.
People that get it on American are probably Cowboys' fans and "Root for the Star." This is the equivalent of putting an openly satanic cult in the middle of the Vatican.
As someone living in Philly trying to describe a Philly Cheesesteak, I could not of described it any better lmfao.
Rewatching SF: Assassin's Fist again. Holy shit its so good.

Eh. Most Philly cheesesteaks are hoagie roll + thinly sliced steak (some restaurants do fucking roast beef and that's not a cheesesteak, but "herpderp lets call it that"), and normally either provolone or American (normally provolone). I've never even seen whiz and I grew up in the tristate area... o.e Then onions + green peppers usually. Green peppers is a bit rarer than onions, but both normally are considered standard parts of it. I know most restaurants only do onions as a standard though.
Man, I miss a fucking real philly cheesesteak. Last time I was up north that was the first thing I had. D: Down here they can't even make fucking bread right. It's like, do you want soft and doughy, or burnt to a crisp to make it "slightly crunchy on the outside."
Wave pls. Posting pics of your kid is like showing off. "LOOK AT THIS. I MADE THIS!" I'm kidding. He's adorable.
