Group of death!! Hoping for some juicy games.. Kinda want to see some Zerg representation in the ro8 (even though I'm a diehard Terran fan) but would love to see some insane dark horse plays from Zoun. Should be fun ^_^

I also want to see insane Dark and horse plays from Zoun
Inno just does not have the composition timing to deal with Dark army in the 2nd game. And Dark was crazy quick to tech up to Lurker & Viper as well. Similar to what he did when played against Clem in WTL.
I was kinda expecting this but was hoping Inno would play a little better. Seems to me he's so off his norm lately. Or I have just too high standards for him
Rogue just casually 4:0 the group of death in GSL code S and goes to the ro8 like "Nah, not really felling it. Need to find my passion back to win this thing" lol

Why everybody sees this as the group of death is beyond me. Like sure, it's stacked. But Inno isn't the machine he used to be and Zoun is not the Protoss god people are looking for.

I refuse to accept this as truth. I'm gonna stick my fingers in my ears.

Zoun rushing too quick into Disruptor is a problem. He always end up not having enough Zealot + Stalker to hold off the Bio army. Would much prefer Storm seeing how Inno doesnt bother to make any hightech unit in the last 2 games.

Also most of the T will focus heavily on marauders to counter the colos, Zoun blinked in INnos main and saw all those tech labs on the racks. A better call will be to make a few immortals in that situation in my opinion.
Inno really have to play that mid game with high tech units to have a chance, as I dont feel he can just kill Dark in mid-game push. Dark ZvT is much better than his ZvP in recent memory I have of him.
Was really expecting Dark to win this series too, but hey, I'm glad Inno made it. Can't wait to hear him balance whine in the interview about Terran needing buffs.

Dark's stubborn habits is part of who he is. He wouldn't be the same champ that he is without those. Just like my other favorite players I have to accept those along with the rest that makes him elite.
Keep watching the fight in the last map over and over again, and I think Dark got caught with a very poor army composition, mostly Roach, no Ravager and only a few Lurker. That army die straight up to Bio Tank push. And Inno timing was perfect, if he did it on purpose, because a couple minutes later Dark would have 6,7 more Lurkers in his bases. And Inno cheering for Armani was funny, as he doesnt want to fight Protoss in the Ro8.

It will be revenge battle in the final. Can't wait to see.
As far as I recall, they never meet in the offline final matches though, so it will be great matches between these two either Rogue can keep his offline bestofseven record streak, or Maru triumphs in TvZ just like Katowice 2021.

whats wrong with it? ty also picked the “easiest” opponents just to get smashed. if your goal is to win the whole tournament, u will face the best players somewhere down the line anyway. bracket luck is the real cancer
I dislike Dark's ZvT style quite a lot. I know it's his style and I know he's been succesful doing so, but most players don't play that roach heavy for a reason, imo.

Whats wrong is that last season the same thing happened, Dark,Inno,Rogue and even Trap ended in the same group because of this stupid system. While group A was a joke as always is. ( The fact that TY failed this time doesnt mean that he didnt have the easiest cherry picked group again). Because of this, stars are falling early thus not making it to the non-regional competition. Each GSL should be started from scratch with no privileges from the previous one.

It's not the name picking, it's the champs right to move players around. Which basically means that the champ gets his group because nobody can go - damn you, TY, here's Rogue into your group(e.g.). So the current champ can move dangerous players away or move the source of the dangerous player into a more deadly group. In the end easy group A means that one of the worse players will advance, so it's in their own interest to not screw the champ.

I'd like to see the GSL get rid of the swap, getting first pick is already enough advantage. At the very least, make it so the swap can only be for players not in their own group.

I think the first seed doesnt necessarily to be the previous champ holder right?
Because up till now, Rogue did not has a chance being in the first seed to claim that right after winning 2 GSL title.

You are correct, it is not previous GSL winner. It's whoever has the most GSL points so far into that year. TY had won the first season and did decent in the second season, whereas Rogue won the second season after bombing out early in season 1. Therefore TY had more points at the time, and held onto his seed the entire year. This system is really unfair if you ask me. At least have it set to last gsl winner so we can watch a different player do the seeding each time.

I could get behind that. That's how ASL works, I'm not sure why they changed it.

Definitely, the player swap is silly and has way outlived its novelty
