If the shades finish on top of the marines, I think Trap wins that fight. Friendly fire + remaining adepts clean up marines, void rays kill tanks and raven. Trap basically had his worst-case scenario engagement once his adept shades finished.

In SC2 when an unstoppable force meets an immovable object we tend to have really disappointed one-sided series anyhow. Was it Dear that was on this crazy undefeated PvT streak before randomly getting bopped?

I honestly don't know why people here talking about how Trap was so favored in this. Some even said he got a perfect bracket to win GSL, just a tiny inconvenience of facing the best Terran of all time in his favorite format. And if Stats plays like he did against Inno then G5L is in the bag.

Dear was on a 20-0 PvT streak and lost 3-1 to Maru in GSL last year, the year before Classic was 22-0 and then lost 4-1 also to Maru.

Stats vs ByuN was a steamroll. At literally no point was the match against Maru not (at minimum) stressful for both players.

Now if Stats happened to win GSL against Maru in the finals (though I'd favor Maru on that stage) he would have only played PvT for the entire tournament. First Code S champ who only played 1 match-up the whole way through?

It would be an amazing finals. At least on paper. MAru is good in the preparational format, Stats is good in PvT, G5L is cursed and Stats is Kong.
