At least I imagine these long ass breaks are because they planned the tournament to go for a certain duration. Clean wins are good for Chinese audience and the players in some ways. It's 10:30 pm in China now,if the score was close, today's match might end up at 1 or 2 am next day.I start to feel tired now and I have to go to bed. TBH I think the schedule is rather bad. They shouldn't have the matches finished in one day,or they should start at morning.

As far as I know they were expecting 8 hours of SC2, which 8 bo3s aren't nearly enough to fill. But yes, both games going 4-3 would've been hard even with very small breaks. It's tough to make a good schedule.

However the live audience would be screwed at this pace. Nah late night travel in Shanghai for the most part is not terrible, sure it's expensive but not going to break anyone's bank.

However, it became two days due to unknown reasons.

Because GSL RO4 starts at the next day. The two events would conflict if they don't squeeze into two days time.
