Upgrades are enormous for bio, lings, zealots etc. It's a massive uphill battle for all 3 races if you're fighting with those units while down multiple upgrades.
Rotti specifically mentioned gateway units because it was the P playing at the upgrade disadvantage but i see no reason to make it about racial balance.

I don't think Alive was microing that badly, but he was definitely trying to do too much when all he needed to was to focus on the main push. After the big early game advantage he should just get 2/2 and bunkers, what could hero do then? Roll over and die pretty much.

yeah I don't get why he never got a defensive stance. It's not like he didn't know herO was kinda broke too, with no forges. Just get bunkers indeed.

He kept trying to push out and counterattacking while knowing just how few probes herO's got. Probably pressure got to him that he didn't notice the lack of forges but yeah, once you saw herO keeps trying to attack you, why not just stay back and maybe build a bunker at the third?

rotti is objectively among the least biased casters. of course he sees things from the protoss POV because that's his race, but he's aware of his own biases, calls them out, and also counteracts them by making valid points from the other races' perspective too. if you've ever watched him stream you know that he has a pretty great competitive attitude toward balance

I dunno how you objectively measure caster bias. Personally I also don't think he's that biased relative to his peers, but I don't think that's in any way objective.

I don't disagree with this - it's just something I noticed that the Protoss POV he sees the game from sometimes shines through despite his best efforts. Not really a criticism though, the only casters where I couldn't tell which race they play if I didn't know are probably Tastosis.
